My concerns about cheating

To follow on from this, you also have the fact that people invest time and money into their Steam accounts. Someone with hours upon hours in a certain game or who has an extensive catalogue is going to be less likely to risk getting a VAC ban on record than someone who has nothing to lose and is bored of a game.

Edit: Banning the whole account for cheating is a secondary thing, getting cheaters banned in the first place is the priority.

Yes ofcourse, but this is no different to the hacker getting their CD Key banned in PB.

Hacking a Steam account isn’t that easy, anyway.

I think Splash Damage will be pretty tight on this.
They don’t seem like the kind of guys who wouldn’t care about the online experience Cough Infinity Ward Cough.

I love PB it’s awesome.

First of all you have to download the lastest version from the website because it won’t download in-game.
Then you join a game but after about 5 minutes you are kicked for packet loss.
You join another game but for some reason your PB is now out of date.
You download PB again.
I get kicked for something I don’t understand cause it’s in smart people language.
I play on another server with 5 hackers and I’m the one who gets kicked since somethings wrong with my settings (according to PB).
I uninstall CoD, ask myself why I still purchase it every year if I hate it so much and play some CS:S.

VAC:

honestly I’ve only encountered very few cheaters in CS:S and they usually get kicked unless it’s “cheat hour” on one of my favorite servers. (I don’t cheat, but it’s still fun now and then, especially when they admin buffs people without hacks to balance the game).
