My Brink Suggestions

I find more people annoy me because they’re hating on CoD, rather than people comparing this to cod.
It’s like you guys are all fighting an imaginary common enemy.

As for the occasional feature being compared to CoD, well duh it is the FPS that holds the current standard in FPS gaming isnt it? Perks, attatchments, xp…sure these features might have been in other games (xp in et) as well but cod popularized it, thats why its the greatest selling FPS franchise. Nobody would argue with that, exept maybe someone who’s not so in sync with reality in general.

I’ve played MP games since the q3 engine started making its mark, played competitively in both RTCW and ET. Then moved on from that to TF2 and CoD, hell i even played WoW like a crazed person for a while. So i’m not bothered by what people like or don’t, maybe its because i’m a bit older, and i don’t have to assert myself by such silly means.

Like the famous childrens author Astrid Lindgren said. Sometimes you just know whats good, and whats bad, no matter how much someone tries to rationalize one or the other.

Give it a rest.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I liked WOW and BLOPS (hated MW and MW2 they both seemed to be uncreative, mindless, etc), and I totally wish the people I am referring to were imaginary, but they are real. They squeak into their headsets, play their radios through it and insane volumes, use <insert internet star of the month> soundboards through the headset, sound like a swearing chipmunk as they tell everyone to “sell your game back #$@gots”, and spam every exploit in game mechanics they can find. And yes, they live in hordes in COD games, especially on 360.

Something else I’ve noticed, not sure if this is just happening to me though, is that sometimes my character gets stuck in “crouch” speed of movement. It seems to be related to the SMART button in relation to crouching along with movement directions etc., essentially when many keys are being input simultaneously. My character seems to be in “walk-mode” moving very slowly, and the only way to correct it is to move via the SMART key again, which fixes it. I know it’s related to crouching, because when it happens, and I hit crouch, nothing happens, as though my char already thinks its crouching (hence the reduced speed).

Anyone else experience this at all?
