my 2 cents on sp and co-op

It’s a chaotic mess at best.
First off why is the offensive ai so incredibly bad as compared to the defensive ai? I’ve had medics run right past me without reviving me. The bots don’t cover me when I’m on an objective but the defending bots always know where I am it seems.
Playing co-op we got stuck on one hacking objective (after the crane) and couldn’t complete it. I tried in sp as well and couldn’t finish that objective. The turrets seem utterly useless. And the scoring system is wack. By our 3rd attempt I was so frustrated that I payed no attention to the objectives because I could get more points just throwing ammo around.
To only get 10 points every second while your hacking or repairing only to get shot 3 seconds after you start because the bots don’t cover you makes it pretty pointless. Enemy Territory was far better than this.

I will try mp tonight and I can only hope its more organized and competitive despite the stupidity of having no lobby or matchmaking. Yea we really wanted to be able to just “jump right in with no wait” instead of taking 30 seconds to form our team “with friends”

Ps. Playing challenge rooms with friends last night was fun until my friend hit rank 10 and was no longer allowed to join me because of his rank. Despite me being only a few hundred points in xp behind him. So dumb

Turrets are ment for suppresive fire, support and a distraction, at least the low leveled turrets are.

The AI are a problem tho and most likley will be fixed in a patch soon, don’t give up, i sugget playing on easy against bots for now.

I noticed that the friendly AI (both when on offense and defense) is definitely lacking. They tend to lose horribly in shootouts with the enemy AI, and they don’t complete objectives very well (enemy AI will hack an objective all the way through, even while under attack, while friendly AI will randomly stop and run off, even when there are no enemies around). Not to mention the enemy AI is way too good on Easy mode (I play easy mode to unwind and have fun, not get pounded into the ground).

In ET:QW (360 version), the friendly AI could actually get stuff done, and could hold their own in a firefight.

In Brink, I HAVE to do all the work, or else nothing gets completed, and usually I have to do it alone (because the friendly AI is off getting slaughtered).

All the kids from overseas can’t tell the difference between a personal opinion and a review. And no I’m not kidding. Do you see a score or a breakdown of the games mechanics?

The AI is actually decent IMO; it’s just that the bots on your team are specifically programmed to “play dumb” for a certain amount of time. When that time is up, they “turn on” and become (mostly) useful. Unfortunately, the enemy team doesn’t have that handicap. I really hope they give us an option to turn that off, or tone it down. I hate “rubber-band” AI and that’s exactly what this is. Let the bots on my team play to win all the time, please…

Well, that definitely sucks if true.

That sounds like the BS Epic did with UT3 (where they actually coded AI on the player’s team to suck).

ET:QW had the best AI (both sides were always competent, and they didn’t have aimbots).

Hopefully SD can fix this issue.

If they patch it or announce a patch for the bots and or lobbies ill stay for awhile. Otherwise I guess ill move on. I don’t need another HOMEFRONT
