Today I met my 1st hacker. You either come up with a better system to catch cheaters or you start charging money for the game. The result was, it made me hate the game for the 1st time. I will never touch competitive for a mission again. I have logged in so far 100 hours in two weeks.
My 1st impressions of competitive.
I wouldn’t hold your breath. The anticheat is antiquated at best and extremely outdated. The same could be vaguely said for Unreal Engine 3 as well which was originally released in 2004.
Most first person shooter UE3 games have several cheats easily found across the web. When a new game comes out, they just re-use their code, change the offsets and customize them per game release.
While Unreal Engine 4 was initially released not too long ago in 2012, SD and Nexon would have had a far easier time finding companies to outsource the anticheat development as it is much newer and not ‘ancient’ in terms of game development.
As DB development and the Alpha release were started around the same time that UE4 was being launched - it is a shame that it was not transitioned to the latest engine back then, as now it is probably ‘too late’.
I totally second what you guys wrote!
To many hackers, leavers and ragers… ruins the game.
Also the competitive ladder seems broken.
Some things I have noticed.
Entire team is Silver -Gold, and opponents are unranked.
Why should you get demoted for loosing when you played well and fulfilled your role perfectly?
Well silver, gold, cobalt - all those are just fancy colors really, since they are all copies of Bronze cards thankfully.
But yeah, SD and Nexon need to get their act together with the anticheat system before it becomes another Combat Arms
It’s rigged to favor the experienced players.
Full public stopwatch games can be promoted as “RANKED” when all players agree to vote it as ranked. Just add it to the F5 menu option.
Eh, had to win a competitive match today. First and second had hackers in it… depressing. Next two games had some guy on the team both times (random competitive pug) who kept disconnecting. So it was 4v5 50% of the time. 5th game finally won.
But the hacking thing is getting depressing again.
