I really hope the devs are planning this. Quickchat voicelines help me a lot, when a player calls for a medic and I don’t immediately notice them or whatever.
But there are a lot of players who just spam taunts the entire match and drive me crazy. I’d love to be able to mute them individually just so I don’t have to hear how my “socks will be proxed” every 10 seconds.

I’m probably broken having spent most of my TF2 career on a server that was essentially just a micspam clusterfuck (and was partly responsible for creating it, wrote micspam software for that very purpose) but it adds at least a bit of background chatter that isn’t just medic and ammo requests and allows the different mercs to demonstrate a bit of character. I can see how it’d be annoying but I’m very guilty of inflicting it on people. srry
It’d be nice if some of the commands in particular were a bit more useful, maybe if they were more like battlefield commands, where you could direct people or mark enemies of interest.

Yeah, I’ve quickchat spammed a lot too tbh. But I’d still like the option to mute it. I don’t mind of someone mutes me if I did.

I’d love to see something like “kill their medic”, “finish your kills”, or “destroy their med station”. Those would be more useful to me than almost everything else.
I barely notice other people’s quickchats of any variety tbh. I guess it could be annoying, but I don’t think I’ve ever been annoyed by it. But I’ll also admit that I think spamming “Kawaiiiii” is funny as hell…
As far as I know muting a person from scoreboard should not only mute their VOIP (not on this current build, bugged) but also text and quick chat (should still work).
I’ll come clean. I spam Arty taunts entire matches because I love them so much.
It’s not just occasional taunts, it’s players who spam the same taunt every 5 seconds as soon as the cooldown is up.
Me and a friend occasionally go into servers as Skyhammers and just spam v51. Most enthusiastic YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES ever. Cancer.
yesterday me and 6 others went around as vassili, skyhammer, and kira and spammed special taunts. that was epic.

I have to admit, I actually love vassili’s quotes. I think his are the best in game personally.
Sucks that I never play him.

And here I am…never kawaii’ed ever when I’ve played Kira…in fact I think only taunt I ever used on any real occasion is when I play Rhino and I do the champagne one lol

“All things come to those who wait” (aka “patience is a virtue” in a nutshell) and the patch to that problem, which came from the mute function breaking, will as well.
I believe there’s a prescription for that, for everything else there’s Mastercard. #ObviousSarcasmIsObvious
The Summer Squash created a bug that prevents muting people. You can still hear them and see their text. However, the sound icon next to their name on the scoreboard is crossed out in red as if they were muted.
On another note, I don’t really get annoyed with anyone enough to mute them. Sometimes there’s that one guy with a terrible mic though!
