Multiple Command maps

(ausman) #21

to continue this thread. I have a map with three layers of command maps. the problem I have is that on my top layer I have a com post and it appears on the bottom layer to start with, but when I build it, it appears on the top layer where it should be. I also have a generator on the bottom layer, and if the command post is built and I then construct the generator, command post will then go back to the bottom layer and vice versa. Also I have a flag on the top layer, when the allies select it, the icon will not appear, but if i’m axis the flag will appear. It all works fine with just one command map but once layered the icons change levels once triggered. Any help?

Did anybody solve this problem with cm markers showing up on the right layers? In that case please post a solution.

Cheers,
SteelRat

I’ll be working on that soon… So if I find anything, as usual, I’ll post my finds

bump. I have 3 levels and all of the icons show up only on the first level map. Any fixes?

(Chruker) #25

I’ve been looking into this, and have a fix for it. But the fix is for the source code, so it needs to be implemented in the mods like ET Pro etc. to work.

The problem is when the server builds the info that is used by the client to put icons on the command map, it leaves out the xyz coords for constructible, destructables and command map markers. Similar the client doesn’t expects this info, so this can’t be fixed by a server side update.

Hmmm … good find. Have you let Bani know?

Sorry to revive such an old topic…

I was just wondering if this problem with the command map markers was resolved in the ET patch that was released a few months ago.

(nUllSkillZ) #28

Not sure.
As far as I remember it’s fixed in ET-Pro.

(Chruker) #29

It is not fixed in etmain, but many other mods have fixed it I think. If not this is the fix for it: http://games.chruker.dk/enemy_territory/modding_project_bugfix.php?bug_id=043

Thanks. I guess I’ll stick with 1 big layer since I don’t want my map to be mod dependent.

(Flippy) #31

so is this still not fixed?

i want two layers (up and down) and i want all cm_markers shown on BOTH layers… does this work?

(=PoW= Kernel 2.6.5) #32

I don’t think so Flippy.

Looks like a game mod would be necessary for it to work the way we want it to.

I tried multiple commands on my map and it was a disaster as far as the objective and spawn markers.
