Multiplayer Lag Spikes

(TehSkrunch) #1

So, i have been playing Brink for a couple of day now, found that FPS wise it works perfectly, i can play offline campaigns, with no lag at all! But if i try and play multiplayer i am plauged with lag spikes!

I was going to port forward, but after reading around it doesn’t appear to help! Wondering if anybody knows why it gives me lag spikes?

Just did a speed test to london, as i live in teh UK!

You should only port forward when you want to be the host, if there are dedi servers involved port forwarding do nothing, and i also got lag spikes sometimes, i doubt that there is any way to fix it from your side, you can only hope that SD gonna fix it(and im not even sure if they work on that).

Your upload leaves something to be desired, but it should still be playable. Stupid question, are you having the problems when connecting to a server that is located in the UK? If you’re connecting to servers located in the U.S. that would explain your lag.

You have pretty much the same problem as me, Brink takes 3 times more upload bandwith than any other game

Brink servers lag sometimes for some reason, but when someone disconects or someone can´t join it lags the server for a bit.
