Multiplayer Confusion

I think I’m confused about how the multiplayer is supposed to work. I tried starting a challenge mission with the option of “2 players”. My wife can see that I’m in a game but whether we try Join or Invite a window pops up that gives her the name and IP address (both the same), the Game “Brink” but gives no info on map, players, valve anti-cheat or latency. Under that it says “Server is not responding.” Obviously the server is responding somewhat.

We’re on the same DSL line and have no problems playing multiplayer with other games.

Is there a specific port on our router that I have to free up?

Yeah, you need to open ports 27015, 27016, & 8766. I know the devs won’t get to you. Been having all kinds of problems, but hopefully that will help your problems. Best of luck to you. =)

I opened those ports on my router but it didn’t help. We did figure out a workaround of sorts, my wife can direct connect through the LAN option (even though the game is posted to the internet). Hopefully Splash Damage will fix this at some point.
