My wife and I are trying to unlock the various weapons/weapon mods by trying to complete the Challenges together. However, it seems that when we make a non-solo game (2, 3, or 4 player) no bots spawn on our team, even though our team list shows a full compliment of bot names. So it’s basically us two against an entire team of bots and that isn’t going well.
Do we have to do the Challenges solo or is there a way for us to do it together without it being horribly difficult?

For better or worse, you must each complete the Challenges solo. In fact, I believe you must do them solo in order to receive the unlocks.
You can do it together but it does not unlock weapons. You have to do it solo. I advise making a new char and then using them to unlock the challenges. Since weapons unlock across all chars. The multiplayer challenges are just for fun and leaderboards. The bot spawn is weird.
Wish it was for both, but even so, the multiplayer challenges were the first things I did right after watching the intro video thing. Need those attachments!
I have a friend who is a lvl 14 Assault and hasn’t unlocked ANY of the weapons attachments yet. He was complaining about “when do I unlock the RD sights and drum mags?” I said, “Didja do the challenges yet like I told you about 3 weeks ago?” He was like “Oh yeah, I forgot about those.”
Sigh…
