movement

(attack) #1

will there be something like strafejumping?
i like if shooters have a special movement that requires skill.
i saw nothing like that in the trailer

Strafejumping was good, SMART was good. Combination of both would be rad, just need to make the SMART movement inherit and give momentum.

You’ve basically described Urban Terror’s movement mechanics!

(NeoRussia) #4

Urban Terror was good. How many still play it?

2000-ish online at any one time, very very active competition scene, and developers actively working on a new version with their own custom engine. Urban Terror is a great game and was doing parkour long before SD was even born let alone Brink was ever conceived.

ET had the perfect movement system. I hope they make it like ET.

Idd, you don’t need a smart thingy for movement, you should be able to move smart yourself

I hope speed movement ans trick jumps !!!:stroggtapir:

(Dysfunkshion) #9

Just give me Trickjumps and strafejumps and I’m happy.

I still love SMART as a concept, but I didn’t like it’s gameplay at all. It felt too slow and sluggish imo.

It’s on UE3 which is of course of great concern for me. The movement in most UE3 games has been very clunky and sluggish (feels like you are carrying a car behind you all the time.) If they ironed out all the basic movement than it would be amazing to have some strafe/trick jumps or the smart system.
