Mouse disconnects

(magenticPigeon) #1

I downloaded the game earlier this week and played a handful of games with no issue. But as of Friday June 12, I’ve been getting periodic issues where my mouse disconnects during matches and I’m unable to look or fire for 2-3 seconds until it reconnects. Windows even plays the device disconnect/reconnect sound when it happens. It happens probably 2-3 times per match. Only happens to the mouse; the keyboard stays connected.

I thought this might be related to some changes I made to ShooterEngine.ini on Friday to improve my framerate, but I reverted back to the original file and it is still happening. I’ve only experienced this issue in Dirty Bomb. I have no problems like this in other games like Planetside 2 and Guild Wars 2.

Anyone else experience this problem. I’ve mostly been playing Skyhammer but I believe it has happened while playing other classes like Sawbonez too.

Here are my PC specs just in case it helps:

  • Mouse: Razer Naga Hex
  • OS: Windows 8.1
  • CPU: i7-4770 @ 3.40GHz
  • RAM: 24 GB
  • GPU: GTX 660 Ti (Driver 350.12)
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 144 Hz

I do not have a controller connected. I’m also not running Overwolf or Teamspeak.

Honestly a mouse disconnect can only be on your end. You may have a shortage in the wire or something. Possibly the laser on the mouse is messed up?

I know Razer Naga’s aren’t the cheapest, so here are a few things that (might) fix your mouse, or can tell you that your mouse may be broken.

First off, download the drivers for the mouse using the following link: razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga-hex

If that doesn’t work, make sure there is nothing loose in the mouse itself. Giving your mouse a light shake won’t hurt it, but it should make a small bit of noise if something inside happens to be loose. If this is the case and there is something loose inside of your mouse, you may want to contact Razer or whoever you bought the product from to see if you can get another for a small price. If you’ve got a warranty, that’s nice too.

Another thing you can do is simply test the mouse on another PC and run it through some test with simple games, or try another mouse for Dirty Bomb and see if it does the same. If it does happen to be the problem with Dirty Bomb, you can send in a ticket via this link: https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us

If none of these suggestions work, you may have a broken mouse on your hands. I’ve never heard of a mouse not working for a single game, unless it was on the menu screen which is a destabilization issue of a game. A game like Dirty Bomb shouldn’t have this issue, however. The devs would be getting a fist full if multiple people had complained about broken mice in their game. You appear to be the only one, at the moment.

It might be time to put the ole’ Naga to rest, and if you have a warranty on that mouse I’d get it returned ASAP so you aren’t losing any cash.

If you find out anything else, please let me know

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it is an issue with my mouse now. Maybe a short in the cord. I played Planetside 2 for a few hours tonight and suddenly started seeing the same issue. I stretch out the cord a little and it went a way for a while. So yeah looks like it is on my end. Guess it’s time to shop for a new mouse.

Sorry about that :frowning: Razer products are definitely not cheap.

Consider the post answered then.

Or good, kek.

Looks like you figured the issue out though, broken wire in the cord I guess?
