Most Noob freindly merc?

(RyePanda) #21

Rhino. Ability is so easy to use. Actually useful merc that’s pretty easy? Bushwhacker. Objective specialist and easy to use, hard to master turret is a nice start.

I honestly don’t see Redeye as being that hard. The PDP is pretty easy, the GR has issues due to the sight and it’s semi-unreliable in CQC and the Dreiss basically turns him into Arty using a Dreiss but with different ability options. Knowing not to smoke your team or smoke their plant/defense is the only thing hard about him and that’s mostly just a “use common sense” situation. Aggressive bolt-action rifle Vassili is the only other merc I would consider somewhat “hard” to play but that playstyle was completely removed with the last patch. R.I.P.

Most Noob friendly? End all be all?

Rhino…

Like, wtf else can you say, large health, minigun with infinite ammo and only a cooldown.

Just sit in a spot and lock it down, stay near a Medic…win win win

(iPod_) #24

Aura. Just run around meatshotting any enemies in sight or camp by a health station since most beginners dont even aim for the health station first.

(SnakekillerX) #25

Proxy…
What? We aren’t doing that anymore? :disappointed:
(uWotm8-AU) #26

Fletcher.

So easy to get a 10+ K/D while playing the objective with this guy.

I’ve never felt so cheap in a video game before.

(Rewolf) #27

Vassili. All you have to do is sit as far away from combat as possible and look through your scope 24/7

A newbie won’t learn a lot with him. A good starting merc also have to teach something to the new players IMO.

(Ballto) #29

fletcher, skyhammer, sawbones, nader

the only pain in the ass thing with fletcher is learning how to aim stickies but even thats easy enough for the most part, and he gets some of the best guns in game

skyhammer is both free and easy enough to get your head around. Press E, occasionally Q, shoot bad guys

sawbones is an easier medic in my opinion because he has decent choices of weapons and you dont need to learn strategic station placement, how long to charge pulse, or learn to be a sniper to medic effectively

nader is also just easy, nades are easy to get kills with and good weapon choice

(SirMurder) #30

Proxy

(Vaasref) #31

Skyhammer, Stoker, Proxy

Rhino is not noob friendly, and he is even less when you are talking about effectiveness since got you know the game (map & tricks) before be effective.

(HunterAssassin5) #32

Skyhammer: summing everything up, he’s the easiest merc to play, largely due to the fact he’s the first merc you get to play. He’s got ammo bags, which don’t regenerate unlike health, so that’s, cool, just remember to throw them for your teammates if you’re not a dickface
The airstrike is also a great ability, as it doubles as a rather weak grenade indoors and can one-shot EVs so you’re not completely useless starting off, in addition to covering a wide area and not needing any other brainpower allocated to things like cooking the nade, just break the habit of ADSing and it gets better.

Fragger: second easiest merc to play. Large health pool, heavy primary weapons for 3 different playstyles, and his frag nades, his namesake, are fairly damaging against infantry though against EVs…probably more of an emergency than a viable option. With minimal cooking practice, you could pull off some rather impressive nade kills.

Proxy: probably the first engineer you get as you figure out how to get money more efficiently as she’s the cheapest one. Plays like tf2’s scout in basic combat, and just place mines near corners and stuff. Play more of her, and you start to learn the most-used paths from playing on both sides.

Vassili: probably the first merc you’ll buy because sniper. You understand the basics, know that you are universally hated no matter what you do, and learn how to use the heartbeat sensor, and you’re good to go.

Oh, right, there’s also Aura: yer a bloody medic, know that, use your Q and E keys often, stay far away from the F key and enemy players.

EDIT: just noticed they progressively got shorter and shorter, was not intentional XD

(Armuh) #33

Vassili

(PeneTraitor) #34

Stoker, Skyhammer and Fragger

Mercs with the least responsibilities and least complicated mechanics. Most new players will be coming from deathmatch style shooters where all you need to know is gun and maybe grenade. These three have the least complications involved with their mechanics.

To play Vassilli well you need to have an intimate knowledge of the maps and where to set up. That can only come from experience. Similarly to play Proxy well, you have to know the map to put your mines in a good spot and know the movement well enough to make the speed work for you.

(gloomyRequirement) #35

Fragger Phoenix and Stoker are, in my book, far easiest to use. I would say Skyhammer but his ability has such a massive cooldown you’re basically throwing away your whole unique ability if you can’t properly place it.

Hardest are Redeye Sparks and Vassili. Redeye solely because his smoke is extremely destructive(with both the Dreiss and autosniper he’s pretty easy to pick up otherwise) towards friendlies if not placed properly. Sparks for obvious reasons and Vassili simply because he’s a sniper in a super fast paced game

(Sinee) #36

Proxy or Aura with shotgun cards. Can’t get much easier, less effort than that.

(capriRocket) #37

stoker, if you cant outplay someone, just use your high DoT high AoE ability to remove that problem :expressionless:

(Sithas) #38

Shotgun proxy is the most easy, you get no effort kills with your mines and you can one/two-shot enemies. And you can run away quickly too.

(Jostabeere) #39

Noob friendly, nope. Noob loved? All the way.

(Sorotia) #40

I’d say Skyhammer, he is free for a reason and his starter weapon is the M4 which is very newb friendly and can provide himself with unlimited ammo. Medium health…not to fast but not to slow. Nice all around merc and did I mention unlimited ammo?
