Is it possible to query servers already for generating a simple web based server overview? I’m rarely on my windows (games) computer so usually don’t keep the launcher open either. Would be nice if we could just check server status from a vip secured webpage or something.

I would hope that any launcher functionality like chat, forums, server browser, stats, clan, comps etc will be available in launcher, through SD’s websites AND via mobile apps. Maybe do a free app with basic lookup functionality and a 99p version with more read/write type features.

It’s easy to find testers to play the alpha… but it’s much harder to find testers who actually look at the testing from a professional perspective and not one of self-indulgence or something fun to do on the weekend.

To be fair it would help if SD provided a focus for testing and some guidelines. Not so much to limit what we do but if they have a TESTING server and want everyone to go find map glitches, exploitable areas, use just one class or weapon to gather some specific stats for comparison I’d be perfectly will to put in some hours.

Until then I’ll play to the best of my ability and in the spirit of the game so that stats are of some use for balancing.

Maybe SD can answer here but do they really need players to continually exploit reported and acknowledged issues? Each patch seems to quickly identify something overpowered or misplaced and then we’re stuck putting up with people lolzing up the server, griefing everyone. Does it need to get to that level that we have 3 knife threads for SD to take action (btw - I know you have, and it’s coming) or can we just grow up and knock it off and just play the game and discuss something else rather than why you’re pissed off because “Knobend A” thinks it’s great to use Weapon X continuously to grief.

Well, I think that they invited all of us knowing what we can individually bring to the game, as I stated in my intro I’m not good neither patient to find glitch and bug, I know some other that are, I’m more entitled to some general balance, ideas (they are cheap I know) for the maps and some general feeling about the game. I think there is a role for everyone, and that variety bring SD good points on many aspects at all, even if it seems chaotic sometimes, I think that with echo and their reading of the forum that bring them mucho insight.
