More Incentive for players to play more daily.

So of the friends i play with on Dirty Bomb, a few of them like to only come on for an hour a day just to do their missions. I imagine there are a lot of people that do the same.

Having just graduated from University, i have a fair bit of spare time, and so, i’ve been playing Dirty Bomb a fair bit.

I used to play Warframe a lot, and the thing i loved about that is that the more days in a row you played, the better your daily login bonus would be. This worked very well for WF, maybe DB could have free standard cases for X amount of days consecutively played, and maybe an Elite for a month straight or something. I feel a little tempering could have it work very well for DB.

Another idea i have is, at the moment Missions refresh for Db every 3 hours, and seem to be random Bronze, Silver or Gold level. all holding different credit values.

What if the first missions of the day you complete, are all Bronzes, and the Second refresh will be Silver, and then gold, and maybe if you do 3-4 refreshes in a day, you get Cobalt missions, worth 2k each or something.

I think incentivising people to play a fair bit a day will have the playerbase much more active, as many people are complaining about the Credit gain amounts being too slow. (I personally think they’re fine)

EDIT: This way it’s rewarding those who put in more time, and play each day.

TL:DR
1st Set of missions a day: Bronze
2nd: Silver
3rd: Gold
4th: Cobalt?

Are you craazy? People with less playtime would go insane and run berzerk if we would have such a feature. “No fair, disadvantaged because we have less time to play”.
Also, you already being more rewarded if you play more, since you, ye, play more.

Hmm, i suppose you’re right, but there definitely needs to be a cobalt mission incorporated, sticking with the cards and rank logic.

I just stopped at better missions(i mean rewards from it).

Sounds like only that bigger side of community would like it. And rest would just cri everytiem.

#1. If its would actually incorporate playing, like min 3 games a day as requirements, then maybe some type of reward, starting small and then getting slightly better with each day. On a weekly rotation.
#2. Most definitely no. Playing regularly is good, playing nonstop is not. Neither for game, nor for player health.
An 1-1.5 hours a day should be quite enough.

I didn’t think it was too bad at first but was thinking about suggesting that the early mission rewards would have to be lowered otherwise credit income could get out of control.

The I saw this,

Yeah, I guess not. Sorry, nice idea though. Maybe possible in some other iteration.

I wouldn’t mind the idea myself, but I don’t think it is fair to people that really don’t have much time to play (maybe a couple of days a week) for w/e reason.

Yes, I play Warframe a lot too (just taking a break cuz too much grinding), daily bonus logins would be awesome.

Honestly…when I play and not care about the missions, I have way more fun.

I play how I want and I enjoy every second of it, Nader for blowing mofos up, Sawbonez for healing and getting mofos up, and Fletcher for getting it done cause mofos don’t do nothing.

To put it simply

If people are only playing for the daily rewards, that suggests a problem with the game, not the players.

(watsyurdeal) #11

@immenseWalnut

Not quite, it just means people could have only so much time to play, or feel like they need to be rewarded for playing.

And as I said before, I personally find the game more fun when I don’t have to worry about the missions, so it really just depends on the player. Especially with a game like this that doesn’t hold people’s hands.

If I have a day free to myself, I’ll often play through my missions, then go do other things, then play some more on the next mission reset. That’s not playing only for the “daily” rewards, but they’re nice to sync up with. Switching them to 3 hourly was pretty smart in that regard, as well as giving us some extra credits if we want them.
Honestly…when I play and not care about the missions, I have way more fun.
This is oh so true, however. When my mission dictates my squad, I sometimes have a lot less fun. Not often, but it encourages those games where I’m missing one of my three preferred mercs and a situation could really make use of them.

Back in the ET and ET QW days the reward, and only reward, for playing a lot used to be getting good and staying good at the game.

Shows you how these new breed of gamers think about gaming these days.
“Where is my free stuff”?
“I want more free stuff”?
“i deserve a big reward for playing your game”
“no harm in asking for more free stuff”!

Self entitled little butt nuggets. IF u dont enjoy the game then just go away. Dont play it.

I’m sure that will happen, once the novelty wears off. This game does happen to have a lot of issues that are annoying. None of them alone are enough to encourage anyone to quit, but when you add them all together, they make the game a real chore to play at times. Some of these need to be fixed as a priority if the devs/publisher want to maintain a healthy and growing playerbase over time.

I couldn’t care less about free stuff, I hate the F2P model that most games use, I would rather pay a one off fee and have everything unlocked from day one. F2P attracts the wrong kind of players (really bad ones, little kids with high pitched voices, hackers etc) and tends to be detrimental for the right ones. In particular, competitive players, that are forced to spend a lot of money upfront in order to have everything available (because buffs/nerfs always change the meta).

People enjoy different things. Some people might find DB enjoyable but they really like the cash grind. Some might really like the luck of the draw with the cases. If there was a trading system in right now many would love that aspect of it (and try to make money off of it). Some are Pokemon collectors and will play until they collect everything and then move on. Those who love it for competition but hate pubs. Those who love pubs but hate competition. Some stay for the community or their friends. And then there are those who love just playing the game.

All of these can be mixed and matched as well. So as far as I am concerned, for a game to be massively successful, you have to have ways to please all of these types of players (and ones I didn’t mention) or a good portion of them. So I don’t begrudge anybody for what they find fun in playing a game even if I don’t play for the same reasons.
