More gibs and less revives?

Where did you see this?
So if I change classes my supplies won’t be replenished every time?
And what if I change guns my ammo won’t be replenished every time?

It would be a great idea to make it so you don’t replenish supplies, that way people wont stand near a command post buffing players and switching classes back and forth to resupply.

But I hope ammo completely refills for the sake of common sense, although a % based ammo supply weapon change could be applied if they think it would be important for balance.

I don’t understand what the issue is, if there is one… is it with a lot of gibbing there will be less revives? I think if someone understands why there are gibbing and they do it, YAY that means the game is evolving and successful. It means people understand the reward that the guy they gibbed wont pop back up any time soon and shoot them lol. It’ll only make medics strive to be more on the ball when reviving so it’s all pushing the game in a good smart direction. If there wasn’t a concern, then that’s just my opinion

Let me clarify, there is no real issue/concern.

I was just theororizing on why the guys at PAX started gibbing so fast (since it’s more of an advanced skill) and what that would mean to the game, which is fewer guys laying around after a battle to revive.

That said I wish they wouldn’t paint ungibbed guys red to draw attention to them, you’re sitting there hoping someone deosn’t gib you yet you’re warm glow is just asking for more bullets. But I guess this is part of teaching newbs to “play like clan players” … guess it won’t matter if rim lighting is off.

But yeah, no concern, and I like it that it takes more bullets to gib than kill (if indeed it actually does).

Ya i really think the red glow draws a lot of people to gib which is a good thing…right, would be cool if it was a learned mechanic and not just an “ahh something red! KILL!” reaction, but I guess as long as they’re doing it, it doesn’t matter why.

Maybe some times it will make more sense to let the enemy lay there than to shoot them. If you “gib” them, they will respawn and be back in your business. If you resist the urge to finish them off, you could have more time to do whatever your objective is.

Supplies? I assume you’re talking about buffs. It’s not like TF2’s Engineer where he has scrap. Buffs are on a cooldown timer, so you can’t spam it.

Ammo is resupplied but not all the way. This forces you to get ammo from the soldier and promotes teamplay. It’s not a big deal, just means you have to be more sensible with your ammo.

Yeah certain abilities have a cooldown timer but I am talking about the “Supplies” pips…

You can see it on the videos it surrounds the circle on the bottom half of the screen. Every time you throw a grenade, heal, revive, give out ammo that bar goes down.

It also slowly regenerates over time. So I am wondering if touching the command post will instantly replenish it all. I am guessing so since certain classes can have more supply pips.

Certain classes dont have more supply pips.
It used to be that the heavy bodytype had more, however they decided to change that.

As far as your original query:
If you use up 3 pips out of 5 of your powerbar and then change class, you’re still left with 2 pips until they regen.

I hate all this noobish mods in ET and so on. Ruined the game. Just want it RTCW like ^^

I hope the glowing thing can be turned off in the server settings like the ridicolous triangles in ETQW. But maybe it is needed to be able to distinguish friend and foe with all the body modifications
From a gameplay mechanic I think it makes a lot of sense. If you can gib too easily “getting the gib” is less meaningful and medics lose a lot of their importance (because everyone is gibbed right off the bat).

I like the gameplay in ETQW where you can gib faster with your tool as a tech or covie and I think this is the same idea in Brink except any class can do it.

Faster/easier to do it by hand makes it more intense than just shooting the guy twice with a pistol.

“Getting the gib” should be meaningful. I really like having more bullets required.
don’t mind my ass miner (bmxer)… he just didn’t realize you can headshot them laying down for less bullets.
