More DB Steam Achievements!

so DB got steam achievements quite some time ago, but it’s just…really…not. you’ll get them all eventually, you dont really have to go out of your way to get an achievement you can show off and brag to people about getting, so lets try to dream up as many stupid, convoluted achievements that might be a good addition to the list, just because.

Overkill:
Stick an enemy with 3 stickybombs before blowing them up.

I Am Become Cancer:
Kill 30 enemies by shooting your unarmed proxy mines.

Hungry Young Guns:
In a single match, resupply ammo for every weapon in the match, including enemy weapons, as Stoker.

The Victorious Ninja:
Kill a Kira with a katana as Phantom using a katana yourself.

The Victorious Samurai:
Kill a Phantom with a katana as Kira using a katana yourself.

Here Comes The Thunder:
As Skyhammer, airstrike an enemy that’s under the concussion effect of Thunder’s concussion grenade.

I Can See Your Shadow:
Shoot a fully cloaked Phantom that isn’t detected by recons.

Brick-headed:
As Fragger, cook a grenade all the way down without throwing it, kill an enemy with the explosion, and not die from the explosion yourself.

Blinding Pain:
Kill an enemy with the SNITCH detection damage.

Surprise, Muthaf***er:
Kill an enemy from his/her back with any weapon without taking any damage from said enemy.

Bunny Hunter:
Kill a bunnyhopping enemy.

Insult to Injury:
Down an enemy Proxy and finish her off with her own proxy mine.

Arty Party:
In a single game, kill every enemy at least once with an artillery strike.

Blitzkrieg:
Push the EV at max speed across it’s entire journey.

Dazzler:
As Fragger, kill an enemy under the effect of Thunder’s concussion grenade.

Phoenix Slayer:
Down a Phoenix and kill him again once he revives himself.

Sleepless Worker:
Skip out on a spawn wave to let a medic revive you.

Eager Beaver:
As Nader, finish yourself off with your own Martyrdom after a medic revives you.

Pacifist:
Get 5,000 points without a single kill.

They Never Learn:
Revive the same teammate 3 times within 10 seconds.

Exedore confirmed (holy sheeshus does it echo here) in a dev stream while ago that achievements added first were mostly just to try out the functionality and they plan for more. I’d guess its not the highest priority though (and happily so).

yeah, i figured as much by daydreaming a while. still, i think it might be fun to just dream some of these stuff up.

Shamelessly stolen from TF2 but we need “Consolation Prize”. Which is getting backstabbed 50 times as a Sniper (Recon). Maybe just have it be regular melee kills. As well as the amazing “BarbeQueQue”, make a dominated opponent quit.

In a single life, kill 3 enemies achieving an objective.

In a single life, get a kill with your primary, secondary, melee and ability.

In a single life, get shot, burned, melee’d and also receive explosive damage.

As Rhino, kill 5 enemies in a row without utilising your minigun.

Complete every objective on Terminal/Underground/Dome without personally killing anyone.

i was trying to make it more like a badge of shame, maybe a sort of “negative achievement” that you do not want to get, but yeah i guess that would encourage further dickiness. i heard of a game that had killing a friendly as an achievement that didnt pan out so well, surprisingly.

God Slayer:
Kill a member of Splash Damage in-game.

Angel Feller:
Kill an enemy with the Founders skin.

Clan maker:
Give yourself a clan name, because why not, right?

Job Done Right:
As Proxy, kill Aimee from a distance of at least 15 meters using headshots.
(i dont know my distance very well, is 15 meters far enough to be difficult without being impossible for a proxay?)

got some achievement names for those?

Group hug: heal 4 or more people with one Phoenix pulse

Like taser, only (some of) you get up: as Sparks in single life, revive 4 different teammates and kill an opponent with your Revivr

Bloody sponge: as Aura, survive 200hp worth of damage without leaving healthstation

Tenno Heika Banzai! - Kill 3 enemies with katana within 10 seconds.
Allahu Akbar! - Kill least one enemy and then least one more with Martydom within 5 seconds.
Firing Blind - Kill an enemy while blinded by Thunder’s concussion grenade.
Back to Work - Repair EV or generator/ arm or disarm C4 within 5 seconds after killing an enemy.
Carrier Has Arrived - Complete an objective while rest of your team is dead.
Firefighter - Kill Stoker while taking damage from his Molotov Grenade.
Unhatched Bronze/ Silver/ Gold/ Cobalt - Kill total 10/ 25/ 50/ 100 enemies in EV’s MG.
Objective Bronze/ Silver/ Gold/ Cobalt - Win total 10/ 25/ 50/ 100 games in Objective mode.
Stopwatch Bronze/ Silver/ Gold/ Cobalt - Win total 10/ 25/ 50/ 100 games in Stopwatch mode.
Execution Bronze/ Silver/ Gold/ Cobalt - Win total 10/ 25/ 50/ 100 games in Execution mode.

Except Kira is closer to a Ninja…Samurai wore heavy armor and obviously weren’t super fast compared to Ninja who were very light and nimble…

Phantom is a lot closer to a Samurai than Kira is…he wears heavy armor and well frankly isn’t very agile and quite loud…where as Kira is closer to a Ninja…as she is small and light…lot harder to hear sneaking up on you in a gunfight.

(just noticed now I typed have instead of heavy >.< )

We sort of had this as a custom achievement on our community server back in TF2, was hilarious seeing new players checking the achievement page out and then all tunnel visioning the mods/admins.

We also had “Even Gods Can Bleed”, where you had to kill the resident premdev sniper who frequented our server.

This is correct.

We want to implement more achievements, and we want them to be rewarding/hard to obtain.

There is a possibility to tying them to in-game rewards, but it’s very much so still in the planning stages. :smile:

Explodydendron: Kill more than 5 enemies with a single explosive ability.
Denied: Disable an EV within three seconds of it being repaired.
Prolific Douchebag: T-bag everybody on the enemy team at least once while they’re downed.
Waste Not, Want Not: Collect 100 small ammo or health packs with the “Looter” augment.
Almost Had it There: As Phoenix, get killed immediately after self-reviving.
Undead Slayer: Kill a Phoenix immediately after he self-revives.
Human Shield: Take damage exceeding over 5 times your maximum HP in a single life without dying.
Insurance Salesman: Give a friendly medic over 1000 Health Insurance XP after being healed or revived.
Good Game!: Use the “Good Game” quickchat command after finishing any match.
The Collector: Obtain a special edition or obsidian card.
Locked and Loaded: Have at least one non-default card for every merc.
Extreme Collector: Own one card of every rarity excluding Obsidian or Founders.

I don’t know why, but I’m not a fan of achievements like “leave a game” or “teabag an enemy” You don’t achieve anything here.

phantom should have been an assault merc that can tank damage because hes the only one wearing heavy armor (beside thunder)

A Crack in the Sky:
Kill an enemy using a fire support ability(besides molotovs) in Underground.

Economy Worker:
Take part in disabling a generator without using C4.

Caveman:
Deliver the disabling blow to the EV using a cricket bat.

Lucky Shot:
Hit an enemy with a sniper rifle without looking down the scope.

Poor Judgement:
Get hit by the first explosion in an airstrike.

Worshipper of Fire:
As Kira, kill 3 enemies before killing yourself with the orbital laser.

Wallhacker:
Have every enemy player detected with a recon ability in one go.

Board Clearer:
Kill every enemy with a single fire support ability.

Early Bird:
Kill an enemy within 10 seconds of the match starting.

Sewer Rat:
Kill 3 enemies in the sewers in Dome.

Inert Explosive:
Use a fire support ability on the C4 to prevent enemies defusing it.

Redirected Guns:
In Chapel, use either of the mounted machineguns to kill 3 enemies before the EV reaches it’s destination.

Not even winded:
Deliver/plant the objective within 20 seconds of the previous objective being completed.

Preemptive barrier:
In Underground as attackers, repair the barrier generator before the defenders’ spawn point is switched to the final spawn point.

Game Over:
In Execution as attackers, plant a C4 charge that detonates and kills every remaining enemy that isn’t downed.

Cleanup:
In Execution as attackers, kill any remaining enemies after the C4 charge detonates before the next round begins.

Perfectly Average:
Get a 1:1 k/d ratio.

They’ve taken the command post!:
As an engineer, completely ignore primary objectives to instead focus on secondary objectives for the duration of the match.

for the in game rewards, just give credits for easier achievement, an expert case for hard achievement, Elite Case For nearly impossible achievement

i thought about hitting 3 enemies with a single shot from a burst fire weapon…is that considered close enough to impossible without actually being impossible?

okay, maybe i need to switch up Early Bird to 10 secs rather than 5, but you can get a kill like that using fire support abilities like the lazor or an artillery strike in execution.

Not Even winded is switched to 20 seconds, and it’s possible if you camp outside the doors in bridge.

Preemptive barrier happened to me before i think, at least, it’ll have to be done before the final spawn point is used.

for Cleanup, it’s any remaining defenders, not every single defender.
