More blog content?

The Dirty Bomb tumblr is currently underutilized - only posting YouTube dev videos and the occasional joke. It would be neat to see more stuff exclusive to the blog.

For example, the late and great Raz reminded me that Vassili mentions having his own blog through in-game dialogue.

What if the Mercs hijack the official Dirty Bomb blog to post their own content? Maybe just some nice text posts about their day or something - minimal amount of effort with the maximum amount of impact (SD has surprisingly good writers).

Or maybe they can just post some concept art :^)

Notes:

  • This will give Dirty Bomb a chance to answer some unsolved questions from the Mercs themselves: What nationality is Sparks? Why does Proxy have “bento” written on one of her bags? Does Kira make lunch for everybody? What tattoo did Phoenix get before he removed it? Does Aura know Sparks stole her identity? How deep is the Skyhammer/Arty/Sawbonez lore? Are Turtle and Javelin on vacation? Is Falcon dead? etc
  • Other games like Watch Dogs 2 take a similar approach, with one of the main characters, Sitara, running her own blog and giving sneak peeks on future content, lore, backstory, etc. Other characters from the game have also hacked it from her to post about their own things.
  • Mei from Overwatch has her own blog too, but it never updates.

Voicing the mercs would cost SD money, but I welcome the idea.

It’s not voice, just twitter. All it takes is a short sentence worth of writing

‘Exclusive’ for any social media site is a terrible idea. Ain’t nobody got time to crawl through 20 different websites(some of which are exclusive to smartphone users, piss off with your snapchat) to find the tiny piece of information that you need. Youtube for video content, forums for text content is all we need. Everything else should just be for spreading said content around(retweets and facebook feeds and such).

Not so sure about Aura Academy.

  • Melee Auras everywhere.
  • No more videos of Shiny being mad over bad Auras.

Such a blog would be fun to read, at least. ^^ Or maybe it could be used for the new “chapters” event content, sort of like the Max Bashki ARG that ran during the last event? That was cool, even if it was a little cheesy sometimes.
