I dunno, took me 4 stickies to extinguish a fire. Haven’t tested it with any more powerful explosives.
Tossed a fragger nade, no dispersal at all.

Well then… free rotation is gonna be hell.

The frag thing seems weird. Might be a bug, but the 4 stickies thing make sense. Don’t try to disperse all of it, rather make a path. The fire is basically made up of a bunch of deployables that can only be harmed by explosives and smoke.

I’ve never seen the fire actually being moved around by any explosions.
Has anyone actually tried Proxy mines ? On paper it sounds like it might make areas molotov-proof! As soon as fire starts, the magical sprinkler system that a proxy mine is activates, extinguishing it.

Doesn’t get moved. Gets destroyed. Like I said, it’s made up of a bunch of deployables. The explosion destroys all the flames in it’s radius but that only accounts for about a third (at least with Fletcher’s explosives). You can cut a path right through the flames.
Has anyone actually tried Proxy mines ? On paper it sounds like it might make areas molotov-proof! Bad idea. While it would work on paper, considering the weight of those mines, there is a good chance you’ll get caught in the blast unless you manage to chuck it a good distance.

By the time Stoker arrives, Proxy can be 2 km away. There’s no friendly fire, so it’s only harmful if YOU personally are caught in the blast.

Oh, you mean throw down a mine where you predict Stoker will use the fire. Could be a useful defense strategy especially if a teammate is trying to disarm C4 or the like. Drop a mine near them and they only have to worry about the initial burst.
Im being STABBED
I love Redeye and hes my main.
I actually feel the way the fire is extinguished is quite balanced due to the fact that explosives only clear a small portion and smokes can clear the whole thing a lot quicker

We’re not saying he’s bad
He’s actually quite fun. But overall he wasn’t amazingly useful, and easily countered. Now? He’s much more useful. I might consider buying him.
I DON’T THINK IT SHOULD HAVE ANY COUNTERS to be honest i mean what’s the purpose if you can just spam more explosives or smoke to deny the fire … i think we a need a effective area denial merc like him
I’m honestly kinda surprised to see this thread and learn that you can counter the fire.
That seems unintuitive.
But smoke as the only one makes no sense.
To make them waste their explosives and smoke just to deal with your fire. And while they’re busy doing that you can be busy shooting them in the skull.
