Modifying weapon kickback.

(MenDAKE) #1

What I’d like to do is change the kickback (recoil) of the weapons. If I understand the ET engine correctly kickback or recoil is what causes the weapons to move upwards when firing. However, I’ve so far been completely unable to affect that. Does anyone know where that code might be found?

FWIW, only pistols, undeployed MG42 and rifles in scope mode have recoil.

Interesting. I’m actually modifying the source code for the FalconET mod, not vanilla ET. So I guess I should ask at their forums.

hi menDake look in bg_pmove.c
in pm_weapon() ( pretty big function, well … )
there you find those insane values :slight_smile:

There are several different types of weapon motion which can be removed from the game.

CG_ZoomSway - SniperScope Movement
CG_KickAngles - SniperScope Kick
CG_WeaponFireRecoil - I wonder :slight_smile:
CG_DamageFeedback - Recoil/Knockback from being shot
