Try: http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/resources/quake3/tools.shtml
Half way down the page is a tool called “Npherno’s .md3 compiler/md3 NGLV”. This little program will let you see what all the shaders are in the model. (BTW we do not support this program)

The majority of the models in ET are still md3’s so you should be able to still open them in Java_MD3View. The only models you wont be able to open are the player models as they are a custom format and some misc mdc’s.

yes Fluffy_gIMp
but i cant display models like Java_MD3View sample
i.e. all the body and animations

thx
Hmm that sucks, it works fine for me. The installation process for Java_MD3View is a bit fiddly as you have to install the 3 java zips first, if you haven’t done that then it obviously won’t work.
As Sock mentions Npherno is good especially if you need no change the texture paths or play with tags, but the downside is you can’t get a textured preview.
djbob wrote quite a cool little md3 viewer we used to use here, titled ‘womble’ but he hasn’t gotten it to a release state, I’ll keep hassling him to finish it.

Well this is annoying. I felt it would be useful to check out the models as I’m always flipping back and forth trying to remember which is which. Now I can’t seem to find a md3 viewer that’s available except for the Java one (which I refuse to install, call me a java-hater).
All of the existing md3 viewers I find look for torso, etc. without letting you look at the model. Well, I have md3 source sitting here so I’ll put it to good use together a Win32 binary viewer for models (rather than players). I’ll post in this forum a web page where you can get it (unless the other one comes along sooner, but hey the more the merrier right?).
