Models disappear

(FrostyChilli) #1

Hello!

I was building my map and 1 time when I compiled the map and went into the game I saw that for some reason, some of my models had disappeard. Their clip textures, which I had made, were still there(these were like invisible walls). It can’t be because of model limit because I removed some models and the problem still occured.

Every time I compile the models, which disappear are always the same. I’m not using Region compile.

It happened when I created a readio and added a few speakers. That’s when i noticed it.
Never happened before.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Good evening,

Are you using misc_gamemodel instead of misc_model for non-moving models?

Have they an origin key?

I’m using misc_gamemodel for non-moving objects and they do have an origin key.

I tried messing around with those models…when I make new models then they are visible(new ones).
When I move these certain disappearing models from a place I had put them earlier, they appear again…(moved them out of my clip_wood brushes).
Now…When I deleted those disappearing models and added new ones and placed these new ones at the exact same positions as the old ones, they also disappeared. Very weird stuff.

EDIT: I tried moving those disappearing models away from their original postition just by 1 grid-size. And they appeared again.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Use misc_model for static models.

misc_gamemodel is used for moving stuff, like Tanks and Trucks

use misc game models under 256 placements, and not on structural walls…

That’s not enough info… lol… do not place the model’s origin in place of a struct wall…

Thanks, Ray!

Also… don’t open a jar of pickles and reach down to get one at the bottom… the ones on the top are just as pickled… just saying…
