Model path error

(Pegger) #1

Using GtkRadiant 1.3.8, when I select misc_model I try to get a model from C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\models\mapobjects\blitz_sd I get a “Warning: could not extract the relative path, using full path instead”. I can’t get any models to appear. Both editor and ET are in their default locations.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Select the model, hit n…

C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\models\mapobjects\blitz_sd\modelname.md3

Make the above look like:

models\mapobjects\blitz_sd\modelname.md3

in the entity editor under the model key. Also, make sure that “modelname” is the actual name of you model

Hmmm… that should work, but its not, for me at least. Perhaps I missed a step somewhere. This is what I am doing:

misc_models>models>mapobjects>coat>coat.md3 a white highlighted box appears with center axis lines through it. I then press “n” on the keyboard short cuts and cut away the “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain” in the ‘value’ line.

and poof, nothing! Nothing shows up after a compile either.

Thanks for your patience and help.

Do u just see a little box with 2 lines,. so no actual coat?

Cause if u dont see the coat, it wont show up in the game, cause it doesnt exist

With Shift+M u can check if u have any models, cause it turns the model view on or of

Did you press enter after you had cut away the “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain” part?
Else the model won’t show up. ( I made this mistake a couple of times before)

Use / slashes:

models/mapobjects/blitz_sd/truck.md3
