Making a lod model is VERY easy. The following things are needed to know:

1.Your model must be misc_gamemodel otherwise it will never change
2. If there is modelname_1.md3 in the same folder it will load it automatically, you can also have _2 if you need an extra lod step. This is all that is needed to enable lod model.
3. The lod distance can be changed by player (r_lodscale iirc)
4. Players can force it to always load low detail model for them, most competition guys have it on lowest (r_lodbias iirc)
5. Players will notice the dynamic shadows changing on the model when the lod changes, this makes the model change obvious.
6. After reading 3, 4 and 5 you know to make the differences small if you add lod models.

but works rly fine -
but aware of too much diffrence beween the lod models - otherwise the model is “popping out” -
just test it with

/r_lodbias 0 —>best quality
/r_lodbias 1
/r_lodbias 2 —> model seen from distance

Nop… Havent made a shader yet
and it isnt the problem… Its just that I suck making textures…

Thanx, will actually try this out. though I dont think it matters when thinking of that it will be only one model flying in the map and it they are just as a prop the game wont use the lod as misc_model only game_model…

Did you btw get the right model in pm?

EDIT: didnt saw you post SAGE, thanx… you actually made my point :smiley:

well, fiddle a little more with texture and compiled the map with light…

So I guess I will let it go for now like this, will pack and upload very soon for people to use :smiley:

target_effect for explosion.

Not as easy as that… this is a chopper… It flyes… so damaged will be just explode and start over from spawn…
