MOAR Objectives: Inject some story too

Splash Damage. I wouldn’t be mad at you guys if you added more stuff into the missions. Like for instance when you’re resistance trying to blow up the reactor. Maybe you could have a dual objective where a team gets into a control room to open and close the doors to the reactor room.

Or an objective that requires both an engineer and operative to complete. Maybe an operative hacks controls to keep a panel open while the engineer repairs whatever is inside or a soldier could in plant explosives in the panel.

I’d like to see some team based objectives where someone helps someone else complete it instead of just standing there. It would ratchet up the tension for sure.

What if there was a secondary objective that put everyone on radar like comms hack? And if offense didn’t want defense tracking them they’d have to go break it?

I think there needs to be more happening to split teams up into smaller groups because sometimes on pub matches everyone roves around as one big gang right to the main objective. Which is fine but probably not SD’s vision for the playstyle. I’d like to see 4 and 4 teams or even 4 teams of 2. And have objectives that they know they have to complete and defense has objectives they can try to rush to get an advantage as well.

A mean one I thought up was an objective that cuts the lights in the other team’s spawn room. So they have to wander through the dark to find their way out. Effectively slowing them down.

Any thoughts?

We don’t need TDM we need to be more objective.

I agree, I think that the progressive levels are a really neat way to play but I would like to see some more objectives. Dual objectives sounds like it might be a little hard to achieve but I was hoping they could put some more side objectives in. tunnels destroyable walls etc. and on both sides too not just the attacking sides being able to hack or destroy or whatever.

I like your idea of making the current story more fulfilling (If I understood your post correctly :wink: )
Also, the alternate route idea sounds cool. Could be awesome if the new maps coming in the DLC had some objectives that felt very different aswell. Dont get me wrong, I think the current ones are good, but they seem devided into “escort” or “stand here and wait for the green circle to fill up”.

I think it would be cool if one objective would be for the engineers to build a missisle turret, fireing at different targets. Then the other side would try to destroy this turret, but could also kill the peron operating the missile turret.

I guess a team developing ideas could come up with a much better idea, but I hope I made any sence :penguin:

yeah, everything is very simple. like you said escort or stand here and guard this. they should come out with some objectives that are active for both teams. It would be like a stationary version of CTF trying to build and destroy.

Yes, I was really thinking that a tug of war style objectives would help the game also:

That would make the gameplay so much more dynamic and even make the levels feel like new over and over. thanks for the pic.

They could just mess with objectives and modify levels a little to fit them in and it’d be a whole new mission. If they were strapped for time. But people would bitch that they didn’t start from scratch.
