MK46 and K121

Both these Lmgs can be amazing. They really can. This is due to their high dps and magazine sizes, leaving for a lot of people that can be killed without reloading. Now this sounds cool, but what is missing? Well I can guarantee that most of times you have got multikills with both these weapons were aimed down sight. Now this would be fine, if these weapons weren’t already detrimental to the already limited speeds of both Thunder and Fragger. Due to the harsh movement penalties these weapons have, people just tend to go with the other weapons for these characters, usually the burst rifles, as these are the superior weapons in this game. IMO BOTH THE LMGS SHOULD BE BETTER AT KILLING PEOPLE AT CLOSE TO MEDIUM RANGE THAN THE BURST RIFLES AS THEY ARE ON ASSUALT MERCS. Assualt mercs are dedicated to killing people, so in my eyes they should get the best weapons in the entire game. They would have, if the lmgs weren’t so weak. Here is what needs to be done:

MK46:

-Increase starting spread accuracy by 20%
-Increase max spread accuracy by 10%
-Increase mag cap to 100
These changes are here as the MK46 already has pretty good dps so it doesn’t need extra damage(sorry @THUNDA) , but due to poor accuracy when initiating into a firefight, you tend to miss your first couple of shots. The starting spread accuracy increase would rectify this, along with an increased mag size and reducing the maximum spread to make it a bit easier to spray and pray.

K121:

-Reduce spread increase by 10%
-Increase max spread accuracy by 10%
-Increase mag cap to 65
-Reduce reload time to 3.3 secs
I find this weapon to be quite powerful in a 1v1 as, unlike the MK46, it has very good starting spread. But any more than one person, even if it is a female merc, requires you to ADS. I want its spread increase reduced so you can hipfire longer along with its max spread for more bullets(hence the 65 round mag),which is accompanied with a increase in its maximum spreads accuracy so it is more accurate again whilst spraying and praying. Also, I thought about reducing the reload time as, imo it is too long compared to the MK46, even though you waste more rounds using that weapon.

So, there are my suggested changes, what do you think?

MK46 should have less damage dropoff and increased range, not an increased magazine size. If its damage was increased by 1 its DPS would surpass shotguns, unless it gets a RoF nerf to make it comparable to the Crotzni, which ironically deals less DPS.

In fact, increasing the mag size for both LMGs is extremely unnecessary.

Also; K121 Iron sights are broken it shoots a bit down left

magazine buff itsnt really needed as spread buff means you will be missing less bullets, even though any buff is a plus.

these changes are nice, but the iron sight of the k121 needs a fix as well.

Well, I have seen this to be a problem for many people, although i have not experienced it myself. Is it 3mm above where the bullets comes out or 3mm below? Either way that needs a fix.

I’m suggesting this as I find that even though they both have already quite high mag caps, but due to their poor accuracies and the concept of crowd control related to their abilities(especially thunder!) these weapons will have to expense a lot of rounds in order to make full use of their abilities aftermath, which is why stark thunder is not as effective as mk46 thunder on killing a lot of concussed enemies. I will accept if the K121 doesn’t get a mag cap buff, but due to the horizontal recoil the Mk46 has, i feel it needs the 100 round mag.

the only thing that could be buffed is mobility, for me these weapons are fine

ask Amerika, he is much better with them

Good point.

but I would rather much see ‘spreading speed decrease buff’. Rather than starting spread which is very fine killing the first guy.

Problem of the machinegun pretty much all comes out from that single part.

they are MEANT to shoot continuously, but not only machineguns, all weapons in this game has wide spread if you full-auto shoot it over 15~20 rounds.(Up to weapons, but usually.)

However, the reason why the others don’t suffer much with that problem is because of the reload cancel’s spread reset function.

That is the biggest part. I don’t constantly reload with T65 Stoker because of almost insta-reload I can do infront of enemy’s face, BUT also inclduing the spread reset.

Machine guns are not able to do that. They just can’t taste that advantage while in combat.

Why? of course their reload time is super long!

MK.46, and K-121’s starting spread is super fine. The problem comes when the second guy appears RIGHT AFTER you killed the first guy.

What I meant for tighter spread is all about solving that situation, not killing the first guy with very decent starting spread.

Well, that’s all machine guns need with higher range and more mag size, IF they aren’t going to buff the dmg.

Directly increasing firepower is actually the most simple way to buff the guns, but conc’s CD has to be nerfed if this happens.

MK.46’s bad state is hided by conc’s super duper slow right now, so if MK gets good without conc’s nerf, that is way too OP.

IF SD isn’t going to touch the conc… then I have the last idea.

How about +10 Max HP if you use machine guns?

K-121 Fragger will have 150HP like good-old days so that he will be more useful than M4/BR Fragger.

MK.46 Thunder has the weakest firepower, but he can tank more. No longer one-shot by Fragger’s pineapple direct hit.

How about this without the firepower buff?

@Herr_Hanz You are pretty much right since MK.46’s spread makes you waste lots of bullets. But don’t forget 11 low dmg is also causing us to reload frequentlty.

About the K-121, super high recoil + bouncing ironsight. Only Mumble helps us for now…

@JJMAJR Mag size buff is what they need first actually.

Every gun in this game reloads ridiculously fast with reload cancel.

though 11dmg and super fast spreading makes MK.46 waste more bullets, I feel 85 just isn’t enough for me.

I have to constantly reload with my MA42 with reload cancel(Try it when Thunder is about to close the machin gun’s cover)

@BananaSlug I think losing what typical machingun’s disadvantage will only make it similar to big size rifle.

Leave machine gun’s own downside just like Thunder and Fragger has to be slower than the others.

We have to seek other advantages like firepower which will distinguish them from the other guns.
