Missions

Please make an option to reroll assigned missions. for example once per day.

my missions atm:

  • “win 2 stopwatch matches”
  • “play 3 stopwatch matches”
  • last but not least “win 2 stopwatch matches”

well thank you
i probably wont unlock other mercs this weekend

ofc this is closed beta and testing and blablabla but later not every player wants to play all gamemodes and will stuck on this missions

might be a good idea to allow to replace one mission per day with another random one, like in hearthstone

At the very least you should be able to discard a mission you can’t be bothered with, even if it means you won’t get another mission to replace it for X hrs or something similar.

Not trying to be a ‘party pooper’ but it is a DAILY mission, after 24 hours it will be replaced if it doesn’t get completed.
It’s a F2P game, just the fact they’re giving you another way to earn extra credits (besides your match results) is already a bonus.

So far it was clearly stated that ongoing missions and their progress will carry over unless completed.

this is true

Hearthstone only gives you one daily quest per a day and stops giving you new ones once you hit 3. But once per a day you can replace one with a random new one. There also are built in limitations to prevent you from getting the same one too often, especially the best one which is win 7 matches to reward 100 gold (which equals 1 card pack). You can only get that one once a week and its like a 1/30 chance to get in the first place.

Heroes of the storm has the same type of deal except they seem to be easier to complete and there are no replacing (AFAIK).

What DB has seems pretty good and generous.

Certainly the main problem with Daily Missions this weekend is that some of them can’t be completed due to Stopwatch being offline. Once that’s no longer an issue, we think that most people will be happy with that :).

One of the cool things about Daily Missions is that they can be used to help players expand their horizons; to play modes, Mercs etc etc that they wouldn’t normally play; and hopefully have a blast doing so. While we don’t want to force people to play a way that they don’t want to…we do want to encourage them to try new things. The idea of being able to swap a mission is interesting for sure; let’s see what happens with that :).

Great idea!

Good, make it happen.

Support getting 14,000 xp was a little insane…

I think I made it 25% of the way on that one… No chance…

(badman) #12

This is the plan, actually. One swap a day, at your own peril.

HotS nailed this one:

-A daily mission which is random and unique to each player. That way you avoid everyone trying to do the same thing at the same time.
-Missions are simple. ‘Play 3 games as a support/assasin/tank hero’ or ‘play 3 games as a hero from x universe starcraft/diablo/warcraft’ or ‘win 3 games’
-Missions offer a substantial reward. The equivalent of playing 15 or 30 games in a day.
-Missions vary in work load (but the reward corresponds to the missions) so sometimes you have to play 3 games for it to complete, less commonly you’ve got to finish 8.

-You stack up to four missions. IE miss one mission or leave one incomplete then it stays until you clear it or it falls off the four missions slots. This is important! This means there’s no need to log in every day and complete missions. People have a life, work, family other hobbies, so if they miss a day or two due to being busy, then they can still work to clear their backlog of missions and still get all the rewards. This is way more lenient than swapping missions or something. Player’s aren’t employees, they just want to have a good time.

Daily missions that disappear are only suited for people with a lot of time on their hands. This system works brilliantly and isn’t punitive on the people that have a disposable income. And that’s quite a relevant point for a F2P.

No repeats?

I just ran sawbonez for a few games and eventually got there

(spookify) #16

That would explain it. I was running proxy thinking I was supporting! HA!
