So with the Dockyard update SD has made some changes to the narrative of the maps to create some continuity and introduce a timeline:
Map Narrative
The world of Dirty Bomb is an interconnected series of events. No Jackal mission is executed in isolation, and there is scheming that goes deeper than simple tech heists.
Some changes have been added to the game to make these connections more apparent - See what you can find!
Through the loading screens and map objectives, we can now tell that there are two sets of missions which are supposed to occur in the following order:
A1- Underground : Terminal loading screen states “jkl have sabotaged underground hub”
A2- Terminal : Trainyard loading screen states “moving detonators to secondary location after attack on terminal”
A3- Trainyard : Final objective is to secure the detonators
A4- Chapel : Detonators are to be delivered to PCO building
B1- Bridge : Final objective is to secure the override cores
B2- Dome : Override cores used to breach the CDA defenses, airship escapes if mission successful
B3- Dockyard : Recover holodrive from downed airship
So far I’ve seen no evidence of one set leading into the other, so I can’t tell yet if these are successive series of missions or if they might be meant to occur in parallel. However the Bridge loading screen does mention the Containment Shield as being newly operational, so it’s safe to assume that the various Execution missions would show up in the timeline at the same time or after Bridge.
So has anyone picked up any indication that Bridge is the cannon succession of Chapel? Do you think it’s meant to be a single timeline or there are two threads going on in parallel? The latter option would certainly give SD more possibilities to introduce new maps / missions in the storyline as prequels or sequels of either thread (or perhaps even in-between existing missions).
). But now, what is the point of blowing up a "medbay2, and how does that clear up the gas from the lower levels? For me that narrative should not have been changed, the old one made more sense.
