mission rotation and design

I want to make this quick and simple.

The mission design is too heavily favoring objective mode over stopwatch. I think it should be much more neutral like hearthstone.

-Remove objective/stopwatch specific “play X amount of time missions”. Replace with “complete X amount of games”. Objective will still be favored on this mission, but at least you can complete them on stopwatch.

-Remove"win X amount in objective or stopwatch". Replace with “Win X amount of games”. Same deal as above.

Based on my experience, I seem to get “play x amount of objective missions” way in disproportion to how many times I get stopwatch missions. Just reducing the chance of getting objective focused missions could help out a great deal. But I think replacing them is a better route. Sometimes I just want to play ranked and still be capable of completing missions, but when I get objective only missions so often it is a downer. I still want the credits and I want to play the mode I want to play.

Please no cake teasing!

So yeah, I basically seem to get objective missions every single set for 3+ sets, or now I have gotten sparks 3 times in a row (not complaining about use-merc ones since they can be done everywhere.

I’d like some dev’s thoughts on this. Why have objective specific missions? If someone doesn’t like a particular mission type, I don’t see the point in having them do it or give up valuable credits. If it was rare I guess it wouldn’t be a problem but it is basically every time I play I have an objective mission.

I see where you’re coming from! I really do! I don’t like objective either! I preferred Stopwatch… that was until I played execution!

Though, our own opinions are always a minority and a lot of people like objective over stopwatch and vice versa…

I do think a new algorithm could be used for the randomisation of the missions.

My solution is that they should just do away with objective specific missions. It’ll let the player decide what to play in. Doesn’t really matter what I like, I don’t want to impose stopwatch over people who don’t want to play it.

Why not just delete that mission?

(Protekt1) #6

And give up precious credits? Crazy talk.

(BioSnark) #7

I think the merc-specific ones are silly as they eat a slot on a tiny roster. This rewards credits for playing less flexibly for your team, given that, as anyone who’s played a little knows, some mercs are significantly worse than others on different maps.

Mhh, I dont have a problem to “waste” one of the 3 slots. I mainly have two mercs I play (Sawbonez & Skyhammer). And you are not forced to fulfill this mission

At first, I would have agreed it was hard to get credits.

But! Once you have learnt how to play the game and start becoming a decent shoot/objective/team member, you will notice your credits boost almost instantly.
I am not saying the amount of credits you can get per game is massive. Although, since playing so much this last few weeks and boosting my hours like I don’t have anything better to do (which I don’t), I get probably a minimum of 500-1000 credits per game in stopwatch.

The credits are for what? Mercs… That’s it!

Using credits for crates is not the best idea…Reason for this is because you get soo many crates per game, and they’re easily traded in for better cards…

Personally, I find the missions spoil the game a little when playing with friends. Don’t get me wrong, it keeps the gameplay diverse because people are always swapping to different game modes. But when playing with friends, even if they don’t NEED to buy a new merc(so they don’t need the credits) they want to complete missions rather than join their team mates and play as it should be. Also, a few come on, do the missions and go off again until the next missions are on…

Very frustrating.

A little on the side, I would like to add;

People leave the lobby because they have a crate! Why not just remove the notification, so people don’t know if they have one or not, keeping a lobby full. Sometimes I like to stay in the same lobby for 4+ hours, but that’s hard since everybody leaves! :frowning:

I didn’t say credits are hard to get. I still don’t like to give them up.

I have like 150k credits atm. I’m not in desperate need. But that is also likely because I do every mission possible with the amount of time I put into the game.

Credits are not hard to get. I still avoid deleting missions though. If it is about to reset and I can’t finish it anyway, that is a different story.
