Missing textures, and trouble with dl'ing them

(BaRoN) #1

Im missing all my textures. Im just starting mapping and going through the manual. And im at the part where im creating my first room. And i got to the part to load textures. Ok the manual sais Open Texture menu and type gothic_wall directory. I went into directory and it showed no textures. And i tryed it in find or replace and still none. I tried downloading some and got it in Gtk Radient file ET main and unzipped it still none. Could someone give me a site to download ET textures and models please and help me get the textures in the Randient i would like it if someone helped me thx.

reinstall both programs to their default directories and lead radiant to ET. It will locate the textures from your etmain .pk3’s all by itself. Then they will showup in your textures toolbar.

Ok reinstall GTK Radient. And Enemy Territory?
Alright

“reinstall both programs to their default directories and lead radiant to ET”

Default directories? Im sorry im just confused about that part.

It has been awhile since I have installed et and radiant…so I will tell you what I remember…

ET will ask you to install it…click “OK”…but when it asks you for the destination (directory placement ) make sure ti is something like this => “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory”

and then radiant would look like this =>“C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant-1.4”

but in the process of installing radiant…(for ET)->it will ask you to lead it to the ET.exe (or the etmain folder itself[i can’t remember]). At this point…browse through your computers directory to find what it is looking for. {Hint=doubleclick my computer:doubleclick hard drive:doubleclick program files folder:doubleclick et-wolfenstein and then to the placement Radiant asks for. If this is confusing…maybe someone else can explain a little better or lookup up directory tutorial sites-it is pretty simple once you learn…afterall, you will need to learn directory usage for putting maps to use.

This manual is almost exactly the same except its a little bit different from the one im reading right now.

Screenshot of my radiant showing the alpha textures.

Do a system search for “common.pk3” and “mapmedia.pk3” and let me know where they reside. example : c:\program files\gtkradiant\blah blahblah
