Missing .prt

A full compile goes through three stages:

  1. bsp
  2. vis
  3. light

The bsp stage initially creates .bsp file with structural information. The vis and light stages take the existing .bsp file and modify it with portal and light information, making it into the final file to load in the game.

If you have not successfully run the bsp stage, then the vis and light stages will always be unable to complete.

You need to look at the output of the bsp stage, and find out why it is not working.

Hey thanks again all, i found my problem after retracing the steps i’d done in the last 24hrs :stuck_out_tongue:
I think its cause i put a bad entry into a few model.shaders :stuck_out_tongue:
Cause radient wouldnt compile nothing , took them out and it’s compileing now.

This here i think:
ParseShaderFile(): scripts/models_mapobjects.shader, line 3214: { not found!

i just signed up for c++ @ collage as i believe its close to scripting or will give me a better understanding of it, atm i suck at scripting :stuck_out_tongue:

Based upon this error and what you just said, I get the feeling that you are editing the official shader files.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!

Make your own shader script! By modifying the official shaders you could mess up the player’s installation. You should NEVER edit official files, models, etc. If you want to edit something, rename it and then edit!!!

No i was trying to add a model shader to the mapobjects list as i have a model but it wont find the texture/skin tga :banghead:

Mental note: dont alter any files make new ones!
