Missing brushes.

(stebbi67) #1

Hi.

I have a problem with brushes that dissapear and partly dissapear. I saw a thread about this some time ago but I can’t find it ( can people not put a small description in the title instead of “I need help”, it would be much easier to search ).
Anyone knows why this might occur? According to Radiant 1.5 I have 11869 brushes on the map, but last time I looked in 1.4 it said somewhere between 16000 and 17000.
If I create a new brush there is a 90% chance that it will show with out problems on the map.

I have some screenshots here to explain :

Thanks,

Make sure there is no double brush (reset filters too). Also try to do a brush clean up if last didn’t help (remember to do backup of the map file before you do it). If you still encounter this, check your brushes for anything weird. And then maybe remake the brushes is the last optiom.

Btw looking nice, but the textures in 2 first pics are weird imo. Maybe you could try another textures or atleast totally brake the pattern with changing some of them. Those walls and patches (not roof ones tho)

Have you tried using the brush cleanup tool?

There are no double burshes, sorry forgot to mention that. I believe that I have tried the brush clean up but I can try again just to be sure.
If the brush clean up will not help I can try changing textures and rebuild the burshes.

Do you think that making the building ( picture 1 ) a ase would help?

I don’t know enough about ase models to answer that.

99% of the time the brushcleanup fixes this for me, if not for you just try remaking the brush and see what happens.

Make the brushes that dissapear detail… (aka ctrl+M etc)

(stebbi67) #7

I believe that they are all detail. I have made everything on the map detail except the hulk of cause. I will make some other strutural when it comes to fight fps issues in later version. But I will check if they are not detail, just to be sure.

Ok I had that problem a while ago. I saw that when I deleted that brush that dissapear an other brush I made a while ago was visible in the game.
So, delete that brush, compile and see if it’s visible ingame.
