Agree with all of above, the auto zoom/spinning needs to go. It feels like its made for console. Otherwise love the game, big ups Splash!
Minor Medic Quibble
It’s there in the options. First thing I turned off.
edit: talking about the mission wheel turning you towards the selected objective.
Big thanks for this heads up.
The system does feel clunky/cumbersome compared to other games.
One thing I like is that your character tries to play catch-up when you’re slightly out of range. So you can hitch a ride on faster body-types to the front lines by trying to buff them, cancelling right before you actually buff them, try to buff again, cancel, rinse and repeat. You can also apply the speed buff to someone and use this method to essentially speed buff yourself, unless they end up going a direction you didn’t want to go.
I can’t help compare a GDF medic, an unstoppable reviving machine to the Brink medic. I can’t perform quick revives under fire without dancing around my team mate or fighting the controls when it tries to drag me to where, I can stick a needle in him. The. Autopilot lock on takes too long and will choose to buff over revive if somebody is in the way. The fact the medic can’t self buff some of the powers is a good idea, but let us choose how to dispense the med candy.
It took me until this weekend (I don’t get to play much) to realize the ‘elephant in the room’ issue with medic. The ability to revive is limited by your energy bar. As opposed to the Wolfenstein/Quake Wars games your number of revives is limited so you can’t just run from person to person giving them all a quick jab of the needle to get them going again.
I’ll often slide over to a teammate only to see that my health bar is recharging and don’t really have a way to tell them “sorry can’t heal you right now, please hold.”
Perhaps unlocking the faster recharge skill will help alleviate that.
There’s an option in game settings to deactivate this behavior, you then just select whatever objectives you want without ever turning your head for no reason
@sphinx175 : Medic has 2 abilities giving him additional energy, which adds to the common additionnal energy attribute, making him a tremendous and constant support dealer
this + far too much XP reward for medic job == Medic is on top of XP board all the time
i have played medic mainly since RTCW. i can quite easily slide past and revive you. its not perfect though and can sometimes **** up.
RE Medic Interactions. If there are are two players in close proximity to each other, a player who needs to be revived, and a player who can be buffed in some way, the game needs to always prioritize the player who needs to be revived when choosing which to interact with. Having your last syringe wasted on buffing some guy who won’t get the heck away from the downed dude instead of helping the downed dude is rage inducing.
Sort of like in Left 4 Dead 2 when you’ve got someone incapped right next to a gas can and the game decides that you want to pick up the gas can instead of helping the incapped player up.
