Its obvious that the games has some flaws when it comes to stopwatch 5v5. I like the core game, but we need to see some minor tweaks before the game can be truly fun. I’ve been thinking and listening to what people think should be changed and i hope that SD has the guts to change at least some of them.
1) Increased spawn timer for defence.
A death while defending an objective should matter. It should matter a lot more than dieing on offense Therefor, add another 5-7 seconds to the defensive teams respawn time.
Playing stopwatch means that the maps must be more offensively biased than defensive, since its all about getting the quicker time. Increasing the spawn timer will chance the dynamic of the defending team and allow us to see less full holds. In my opinion full holds should be something extremely rare and something that should make spectators and players go; “oh wow, that’s impressive”. However in its current state its way too easy to get it on pretty much all maps.
This is also the only way i can think of to rebalance the current maps without giving them a total makeover.
2)Hack objectives a pain in the ass.
Currently an engineer can remove the hackbox entirely and do it at twice the rate it takes to hack it. A change would be to let an operative “corrupt” the hacked data and slowly revert the data hacked, i am thinking at half the speed it takes to hack it. Engineers can no longer touch the hackbox.
3)Attack Rifles never being used.
The game needs some weapon balancing. Its quiet obvious after having played pickups and scrims for about 50 hours the last week that no one uses the AR’s at all. ARs should be useful at medium/long range, where as SMGs should be the better weapon at low range. The spread and recoil needs to be looked at for all the weapons and have some sort of steady pattern, the RNG is terrible and it will only frustrate people.
4) Adrenaline has no knockdown, sometimes!
This ability could be one of the core ability in the games, used in clutch situations. But it has come to my attention that you will only get knockdown sometimes. It’s obvious a bug (i hope?) and it needs to be either fixed, or the ability should be changed. I would like to see the duration lowered so that it does not last more time than it takes to plant or defuse.
Thats what i would like to see first, what else could we change so that we don’t change the game entirely?
