For spawnpoints you need:
[/list:u:d984d54973]
Add as many “team_CTF_TEAMspawn”-entites as you want players play your map.
For example if you map a 6 vs. 6 map you will need 6 “team_CTF_bluespawn”- and 6 “team_CTF_redspawn”-entities.
But you only need one “team_WOLF_objective”-entity per spawnarea.
errrm, correct me if i’m wrong with that, but i alway thought the minimal setup for spawnpoints
is 1 info_player_start (pink, spectators), 1 team_CTF_redspawn (red, axis) and 1 team_CTF_bluespawn
(blue, allies). at least this is my setup for boxmaps and it works fine. having said that i just fired up a
random boxmap and deleted some parts… here’s the result:
-deleting the redspawn lets me compile and load the map. specs and axis spawn at info_p_start and allies at bluespawn
-deleting the bluespawn behaves similar: specs and allies spawn at info_p_start, axis at redspawn
-deleting both red- and bluespawn lets specs, axis and allies spawn at info_p_start
-deleting info_p_start but leaving red- and bluespawn in the map results in “no spawnpoints found” error when loading the map.
that finally means zeptera has forgotten to include an info_player_start…
the roundup:
every map needs an ino_player_start. team_CTF_red- and bluespawns are optional and only neccessary
if you want both teams to spawn at different places. team_WOLF_objective can be left out for now, they
become useful when it comes to scripting spawnpoints (forward, capturable spawns) and limbo cameras.
but for now, just drop an info_player_start and your map should be up and running.

nice work thore
Zeptera, can you plz change the title of this thread to something like: “minimal spawnpoint requirements”? That would be very helpful for everybody else who has that problem and searches the forum for help. You can change the title when you use the “edit” button of in your first post of this thread.
It looks like i dont have the info_player_deathmatch
the manual says: use info_player_deathmatch instead.
so i did and: couldn’t find spawnpoint
:???:
Can you upload your mapfile somewhere? I could have a quick look at it if you like. Or pm me your email, then we ll exchange the file that way.
Your map leaks because the top of your “world box” is missing. If you don’t know why you need it or what I’m talking about, have a look at the sticky thread in this forum and get started with a tutorial for beginners.
i dont think my map leaks beacuse i have compiled it many times and it doesnt say anything abaut “Map leaked” now.
[EDIT] Sorry i mis-read your statement[EDIT]
hi,
i have solved the link-problem
you must use opera or mozilla in order to download it…(i dont know why)
Zeptera
I see a few problems, Zeptera.
it freezes when i go to limbo? i have read the sticky thread and Hummers but cant find the exact answer…
You have to set the “mapcordsmins”- and “mapcoordsmaxs”-keys in the worldspawn-entity.
mapcoordsmins: Top left corner coordinate of the x-y-2d-view. Example “-256 256”.
mapcoordsmaxs: Lower right corner coordinateof the x-y-2d-view. Example “256 -256”.
The values of the keys have to describe a square.
Try this for you map, Zep.
mapcoordsmins
2048 1536
mapcoordsmaxs
4608 -1024
Next time I suggest moving everything closer to 0,0
