sorry…but i must be stupid… cant find “Materials->Paint texture->Save Texture”
i downloaded the last version
could u be more precise…cant find any save options for texture…
Ms3d uses the texture coodinator for uv maps. (crtl+t) I don’t use it however.
You assign/make a texture to the group(s) in the model first and then alter the model uv in the coodinator to match the texture and/or modify the texture (in paint prog) to match the uv ect. The texture is saved in the paint prog you are using and the uv is saved in the ms3d file or md3 etc…so you are using both photoshop and the ms3d texture coodinator (or other uv map prog) at the same time, going back and forth making changes. When you modify the uv map you save the model. When you modify the texture, you save the texture and rebrowse for it in ms3d to show the changes.
If you modify the uv in ms3d they just get saved with your model and are not separate files. (That I know of) That means the texture will just be altered to fit the specific model or group when assigned to that group. I have always used Lithunwrap for uv maps myself which is no longer free iirc. I find most model objects get too complex for uv mapping with the coodinator, which seems to use a decal type uv.
SO basicly I juggle between 3 programs at once while making my texturing my models. It gets a bit complicated but that’s how I do it myself. : )
use lithunwrap for milkshape models’ UV maps.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NitnWlJL4wY in this vid i am making a knife model, that blue app is lighunwrap… nothing to say just watch
thanx both:D

i will also put it in our clan download
Ha ha. Nice job on the model video. Same programs as I use, so its interesting to see/compare the process. One thing I always recommend to people starting with milkshape (or really anything) is select the whole model in ms3d after texturing and use tools/clean to see how uv the has altered the seam shadows. Sometimes its like a whole diff model.
ok guys thx… i needed this too
but now i have another problem…i want to make the model out of glass
does anyone know how to do that?
do u also know how to do this?
i just started moddelling and have no idea how to do this?
