You need to unwrap its UVs. Just overlay the 5 similar sides and then put the unique side by itself. Create the skin file, link the skin file to the model (i’m not sure how this is done in Milkshape; I use 3ds Max). Export to .md3 and you should be good to go.

Do you know how to unwrap UVs?

uvs what it’s it???

“UV” refers to the coordinate system used in uv maps: U and V are numbers from 0 to 1 and point to a pixel in an image.
UV wrapping is a technique where every polygon get’s mapped onto an image, thus converting the X, Y and Z parameters to U and V.

Sadly I don’t got a tutorial on it.

This tut is the one eb should have linked to:

They have a good range tutorials here

For texturing I use Lithunwrap: http://members.lycos.co.uk/arras1/download.html

UV unwrap OR groups w/materials.
Whatever’s clever. :nag:

@ Detoeni, have you used Blender3D with the .md3/.bsp plug in at all ? …just curious.

@ kamikazee - 3dbuzz has a great uvmapping tutorial for 3ds max that can be applicable to many different unwrap programs. For those not using 3ds max, lithunwrap is pretty useful. Biggest thing to learn is how to lay things out correctly and such.

Iv not used that one myself, Kat and ratty redemption may have used it for md3 work at some point.

Be careful with Lithunwrap (or its more recent version Unwrap3D), though. It destroys your smoothing groups setup by reducing it all to 1 smoothing group.
