Microstutter ...

(Joe999) #1

… this game is free from it. Finally! All it took was getting rid of id tech 4. The game runs totally smooth

After all my bitching about the id tech 4 microstutter I had to say it

WHAT WHAT WHAT?! Are you trying to say that Doom 3 and Quake 4 did not run smooth?!

Blasphemy! (insert HUGE sarcasm here).

Saw the thread title and my heart sake.

Glad it’s all positive news in here though. :stroggtapir:

The game just feels a bit ‘heavy’ but apart from that it’s great.

Do you mean like input lag?

I feel this, especially in menus.

Menus are currently getting worse FPS than in game (I know right? :)) which should make the input lag worse in the menus than in game.

I read the topic header, then the name of the thread starter, then my face went…

Check my HUD cleanup tutorial, there is a fix for this.

Heh, I thought you guys invited me for the fact to check for ms

Btw, fyi my machine didn’t change, I still get ms in every id tech 4 game I play while Dirty Bomb runs totally smooth

What do you mean by microstutter I actually fine the frames in this game to be stutterrific compared to others. Unless of course you enable inputlag (vsync) then it runs smooth as butter.

(Breo) #11

You have the most recent driver do you have SLI or Crossfire?

(Hundopercent) #12

Used release and beta. It’s smoother than it was before since I picked up a lightboost monitor but it’s noticeable smoother when vsync is enabled and when it’s not.
