if you play routinely with heavies, then go for speed boost and buff them when spawning. it is nice to get their firepower in the battle asap.
Metabolism or Speed Boost?
I think I would go for Speed Boost, for these several reasons:
- useful at spawn (so usable at spawn) to recover a position\objective (so target eam oriented)
- helpful in case of transport (so target oriented)
Moreover it is more rational than metabolism, seeing I have medical regen unit, so my mates don’t need it, they heal at tower.
Thanks to all :D.

Speed boost is also great for when someone is running back to deliver the package/case on CC, Founders Tower or Terminal, etc. If you can med boost them then speed boost them, they can run back before the D has a chance to catch up.
I don’t get why people don’t like adrenaline. It is great. There are many objectives in the game where it applies. How many times have you seen a soldier almost get the plant, or the data almost turned in? Those times could have been a win had you been there with adrenaline.
Yes, it is situational, but it is by no means rare that I buff an objective completer with Adrenaline, and the times when it makes the difference, that’s just gamechanging and totally awesome.

I actually get pissed sometimes when as a soldier I’m planting and I’m like “guys they’re shooting me life buff + adrenaline plz.” And they’re like “oh I don’t have adrenaline.” Great there goes our initial CC plant rush right there (add whatever equivalent you prefer).
Personally, with the way I’d like my team to play and the way I like to see things work out at least 1 medic on my team has to have this ability.
Ideally I think a team should have at least 2 medics. This let’s one run laz, unit, adren and the other run laz, speed, metab. I don’t care so much about metab, but this is just a general kinda setup. I never use transfer supplies
I think you should go for the laz grenade and the adrenaline. Trust me, I’ve been playing medic ever since I got the game (may 13). laz is good for reviving crowded, downed teammates also good for reviving teammates in hard to reach places. Adrenaline is no good for combat, use it when someone is completing an objective, it will give them those extra vital seconds they need to complete it.
Metabolism for sure. It’s 1/3 of the best the Medic has (Speed Boost, Regen Kit, Laz Nade). Plus it’s great for Heavies and Mediums (lights as well, but Med’s take best advantage of it IMO).
Plus, with a Regen Kit it heals you quicker when you run through one. Pretty sure.
I re-specced my LV20 Soldier (full) into a Medic/Soldier so I could get the Regen Achievement (was the last I needed).
But I’m going to keep him this way now cause I don’t have a Medic character anyway and I wanted at least 1 and it works dual-class. One of my buds is a Medic/Operative and he is BEAST at both Classes.
Def. go with Meta though…
neither.
adrenalin, lazarus and med station for me
adrenalin is great for when people are hacking or planting HE
lazarus is great if you cant get to someone or they are well below you and you cant get back up easily
med station a bit like adrenalin and great for holding areas.
metabolism is great eariler on. i would have that then sell abilities and buy laz and med station later on
I find large groups to revive all the time with the laz grenade, besides that’s not all it is good for.
I sometimes toss one out while behind cover and enduring heavy fire when I know there is a guy down. behind the guy firing at me. I revive the guy and he shoots up the bastard from behind :). I’ve done this countless of times already.
Also it is useful when you have to revive a bunch of people in the instance and sometimes there is that guy you just don’t want to run to or climb to to pick up. Just toss the laz grenade up there to get him up :).
lol, sorry, i couldnt resist
whatever makes you feel relaxed eh?
i guess that isnt a saying yanks can appreciate? im sure you can guess what it means in the UK

it doesnt last long enough IMO. but its useful. if they doubled the time it would be awesome.
maybe 2 medics with it could help a soldier plant.
in my jacks i mix it up, so one has met, one has speed (the light, so he can keep up better). my medic/op has laz/adrenalin and med station

I’ve used Adrenaline successfully in these specific spots:
-
Delivering the package to the heli at the end of CC. The Res are usually all shooting at the platform and those few seconds of Adrenaline helped win the game.
-
Breaking Nechy out of his cell on Sec Tower. Same as above.
-
Anytime an Engy/Op is close to completing a Obj. If the enemy shows up with 5% or less to go, I’ll zap the Engy/Op with Adrenaline.
-
Anytime I’m with a heavy about to run into a heavily-defended area. Zap the Heavy with Adrenaline, let him run in and take all the bullets, the rest of us get inside and spread out.
If there’s one way I’d improve Adrenaline it would be that it would prevent grenade knockdowns while active. Dunno if that would upset the balance or not, but I think it would make it a more worthy skill.
Adrenaline is very useful for key moments.
Speed boost ? meh. Not that great except maybe in comp/matches ?
Metabolism ? it’s kinda ok, but if you take it, don’t take the healing station, it’s basically the same purpose.
I didn’t take speed boost, and dropped meta for heal station (could go back on that). Adrenaline is a must IMO. Even in Pub, people starts to know by now that when they receive adrenaline, they are expected to either rush obj or rush and gun down everything.

I think you probably know this already, but for the sake of conversation it might be worth pointing out that adrenaline stacks so 1 buff = 4 sec, 2 = 8 sec, etc.
Yeah, but you need to be organized with that. Not gonna happen in a pub game :).
“MEDIC HEAL ME!!!”
“MAN **** YOU!! IMMA CHARGIN MA LAZA!!!”

lol yeah it’s probably the luckiest day of your life if you got double or more Adren in a pub.
I chose Speed Boost over Adrenaline. Downside of Adrenaline is its situational. The person hit with Adrenaline is gonna die because once it wears off, they get all the damage all at once. Speed boost I use on Heavies or if I want to boost someone who is the objective class.
ah, i didnt realise. i seem to be the only person ever using it. i dont think anyone has used it on me! its useful for planting HE etc
I definitely use it. For as much as people are indicating it’s situational I’ve gotta point out it’s situational to completing almost any objective. Therefore, the “situations” where it’s useful happen several times on each map.
By far it appears to be the most useful when planting an HE charge (gotta time this right so that the dmg doesn’t kick back in prior to the plant completion unless you stack it), but it’s also useful on every other objective.
I can see how the other buffs come in handy, but adrenaline is truly a game changer much more than any other IMO. Like, I’ve never been like “thank god we had speed boost/meta/transfer supplies or else we would have lost.” But, I have definitely felt like I would never get a plant off, Obj done, or won the game if it hadn’t been for adrenaline.
*Also, like I said earlier most of the time your team should have 2 or more medics anyway. So, all the buffs should be available to you regardless.

Adrenaline is X-factor ability. That’s what makes it cool. Its also equivalent to creating a suicidal soldier. Which is a good thing! Eat hot lead, punk.
