Mercs

You say the mercs that aren’t in the game are being balanced but lets be honest, the game was pretty well balanced before. Also HOW can you balance mercs without any data on them playing against the other mercs?

TBH we know your excuse and or reason for not having all the mercs out is all about your f2p model. We understand you are releasing mercs one by one with huge gaps so we will be more inclined to buy them with real $$ instead of spending 200+ games per merc. But this will end up working against you because this process will take way to long and also because if all the mercs aren’t in the game the mercs ment to counter each other and the balancing will be off.

Just release all mercs in like a $30-$40 bundle and then you can start actually balancing the game.

There is data. They showed us quite a few other mercs during alpha that were fully modeled, textured, etc… and they would be play testing them themselves amongst the dev team.

If the more unique ones still resemble what we were exposed to, balancing them in a way that doesn’t make the more sensitive people in the game go ape s@#t at how much they force people to re-adapt to play with/against them… it’s no small task. Look at all the passionate support/opposition Fragger is getting at the moment. Some people are claiming his current state is game breaking… he’s nothing compared to the impact some of the other mercs will have when they hit the scene.

I imagine the one by one balancing/release for further mercs is heavily influenced by the attempt to introduce them in a way that isn’t radically at odds with the current play data/styles.

And it would be a poor marketing move to dump all the current mercs they have built onto the market at once… that kills the momentum and expectation that a steady flow of content will be released in support of the game in the long run… and that is the plan; to keep the game surely and steadily growing with useful and relevant content.
