Mercs who are overpowered and ideas for change

(Dundee) #1

Now i understand this game is in beta but i just wanna express how i feel and maybe come up with some ideas for change. I’m going to start with phantom and i know hes new and hasn’t really had enough time to be tested out but ive been tested against him and can i just say hes a bit ridiculous for the simple fact of his ability the reactive armor the invisibility is near enough full its probably the best invisibility ive seen in a game so props for that but it makes him near enough impossible to track and kill seeing as soon as he is close to you, you are dead because of his two hit samurai also that ability gives him the power to shrug off airstrikes and sniper shots bit op don’t you think?.

i don’t believe the developers should remove the ability because all round its unique and cool i think maybe reduce the effects of the ability or make his load-out weaker to give opponents a chance that’s all i really have to say about phantom. Now Bush wacker and all together he is a balanced merc except for his turret ability, it instantly deploys upon pressing the key and has a 360 degree field of view and an extremely high damage model for that i would perhaps like to see the turret have a 180 degree field of view with perhaps a slightly lower damage model like the sentry guns from the cod franchise but not so much that his ability is deemed useless, those are my two major issues with the mercs.

But possibly minor tweaks could be done on the airstrike for sky hammer it doesn’t bother me that much but it is a bit powerful for what he is another one is fraggers health it seems alot also for the sort of class he perceived to be and naders grenade launcher also slightly op how the grenades bounce alot of surfaces and has high explosive damage also her martyrdom is coming across to me as a bit op but that might just be me but as i said these aren’t big issues for me i would just be happier seeing them tweaked at and tested but i do believe phantom and bushwhacker do need fixes but hey ho everyone has there opinions and i would like to hear them as well its interesting to hear what everyone else thinks and if miss murder or any other developer sees this i love the game and im just trying to help towards making it better thanks for reading if any did read all that lol.

Also check out my other post on bug problems i just want to hear if anyone else has had issues with major fps drop every 2 mins all game or is it just my pc thanks…<3

You might want to split your wall of text into paragraphs right now it makes it hard to read.

I’m not gonna touch phantom there are enough treads about him and my opinion is well documented (even tho it is shifting at the moment).

Bushwhacker turret is fine. he cant deploy it instantly the turret has 1-2 seconds before it is activated thats infact enough to destroy it before it can shoot. Also it has not a 360 degree FOV it has roughly a 180 degree (maybe even smaller not sure) infront where it locks on. However if it has a lock it will indeed follow you in a 360 degree (actualy spherical you can’t jump over it). So you can flank the turret, sneak behind it (and you can’t place it directly behind a wall so it is always possible to do that) . But you can’t simply run behind it.

Fragger is ment as a tank/bruiser type of Merc that excels at, 1 on 1 (2 on 1) encounters. His drawback is that he is slower than other Mercs and he has to relay quite substantional on support mercs both for his weapon and himself.

Naders grenades and Martyrdom her grenades are the weakest in the game one does 75 damage, which is not enough to kill any Merc unless she lands a direct hit (gets a bonus and deals 90 Damage killing squishy Mercs). Also keep in mind that Nader belongs to the same group as Fragger. Assault they are the main damage dealers its their job they can’t do anything else. And they need to be good at it.
Martydom their are many treads about this already so I will refer you to them aswell. Main gist is don’t try to finish Nader with a knife, get away from her and you will be fine.

personaly never had fps drops that I couldn’t explain but there are quite a few reports about performance issues so might not be your PC (but could very well be).

Martyrdom seems to me the less useful thing about nader right now. Most players learned to stay away from her/knife her ultra ultra fast after a CC combat.
The only ones you kill with martyr is the ones who forgot or went stuck in a wall or didn’t see the downed nader…
All in all, it seems to me that martyrdom is now 80% useless, tbh…

Just so ya know OP, your point gets completely lost in that sea of text. A lot of us, myself included are not going to even bother reading all of that without paragraphs.

all sea of text issues have been addressed you’re welcome. And i disagree GI.Am the things you say about them is possibly what you have read they should do, but in game its a different story i believe the things i say are quite valid and true but i respect your input and thank you for it, its good to know where other people stand.

and with the martyrdom issue as i said those are minor tweaks and it could quite possibly just be my play style but thank you also for your opinions

I don’t think you realize

Bushwackers turret takes about 4 seconds to set up before it starts shooting.

Also, it only has 180 degree FOV, it won’t detect someone behind it.

HOWEVER

If someone is spotted by being on front of the turret, they get locked onto, and when you run around the turret while locked onto, it can turn 360 degrees.

But it only locks onto someone in a 180 degree FOV
