Proxy

Too fast, plants too quick, defuses too quick - shotgun a bit too powerful as stated in the weapons thread.

Arty

His primary gun is lacking, I would be interested to see the percentage of players with Arty in their active loadouts, and also a chart of the amount of time on average per week is character is played. I feel Arty would be at the bottom of the list on both - and there are reasons for that including his main weapon.

Fragger

Seems fine, beefy HP but moves slower, makes sense to me.

Skyhammer

Cooldown time on the airstrike could be lowered a bit, but having a high cooldown is also something I can understand to prevent un-necessary back to back spawn camping and EV destruction.

Aura

Great medic, seems like having two of them on a team is a bit OP at times. Downside being that she is a bit more stationary in terms of team play with the aura station, very easily suited for defense but offense a bit trickier. Very fast too - overall, almost a bit too good?!

Sawbones

More mobile than Aura in terms of tossing out health on the go or leaving packs on the ground for players, along with his SMG options are great instead of the shotgun and also has his place in the game.

Vassili:

He’s cool, I’m not a fan of sniping so will leave this up to the AWPers and snipers out there to fill in. I like the functionality of his sensor grenade but do not like the fact that he can jump and snipe. Jumping I feel like should drastically decrease accuracy or even kick the player out of the scope entirely. Jumping and sniping - a bit silly.

As a general overall movement/planting speed

Seems like the faster players should be the ones that take longer to plant/defuse - where as the slower players (Fragger) should be the ones that plant quickerbut still not as quick as what Proxy is doing right now! :wink:

Proxy, Engineers defuse and plant C4 faster than the rest, She does this faster than the rest of the current mercs because she is the only available engineer, that said. She lacks HP making the high damage and speed acceptable.

Arty, I’ve heard that the only benefit his gun has is that its great when scoring headshots… not worth it, His ability I believe needs more shells hitting an area with every calldown. He calls in a shell, it breaks open midair, causing it to shoot bomblets, maybe have multiple shells with each call down, with the current two call downs and faster regeneration compared to Skyhammer.

Skyhammer feels fine, the large area of effect seems worth the wait but I wouldn’t mind it being lowered, but that would mean possible changes to Kira and Stoker.

Aura, All I can say is that Aura’s healing station needs a nerf, and it tends to be mentioned in every thread mentioning her, with my idea being the following, Make the station fire healing pulses every 2.5 seconds, as to not be simply a droppable and reclaimable multihealing healthpack. Changing the visuals for enemy Healing Station’s to red and make them slightly weaker, which might be too much if the first would be added.

The thing is, why should engineer be the only archetype who can do objectives faster?

Why not have the classes which have explosives as their skills be better at using explosives? Proxy repairing the EV or generators faster is fine. But planting and defusing C4 could be part of Skyhammer, Arty and Fragger.

I’m not really sure this would work out good…
:wink: Shotguns are fine, and Proxy is fine, IMO.
She’s an engy, yes.
Shotguns are used a lot in this game, because many maps are a shotgunner’s dream, to be honest. Open, but also very CQC-focused. and that’s where shotguns shine… :wink:
In your case, we would have slower Mercs with a big health-pool, who have relatively good and powerful killing-equipment (Minigun, Nades, LMGs, etc.), who are also fairly efficient at planting C4&co.
And who would be flying around the map with no “real” goal? The Engies. They would be relatively fast, have shotguns and SMGs, Proxies would plant Mines and Bushwhackers would build 1 turret. But aside from that, they would be not very objective- nor killing-efficient.

I’m not sure this would be a good idea…
Why?
Engineers should be more mobile and be able to repair/arm/disarm/plant C4, since they are not as kill-focused as Fragger, Rhino or Skyhammer, for example.

Slower Mercs have a relatively high healthpool, have kill-focused equipment (=LMG with 100 rounds, AssaultRifles like the M4 or M16, Rhino has the freaggin’ Minigun, dude. :smiley:
Fragger has nades, Skyhammer can also use an M4 and the DEagle and has an airstrike)

Understood, and being the Engineer class - seems they would have an advantage on paper for repairing objectives.

Explosives wise, the ‘slower’ classes being the ones with explosives in most cases, that’s my idea behind why they would be the classes better suited for planting and defusing - but just my opinion :slight_smile:

They seriously need to add a new engineer and nader + stoker so we get the hell out of this aura healing station + fragger meta.

Imo the only ones who need a bit of work are the medic classes, Sawbonez, after playing him, isn’t quite as op as I thought, the strategy of throwing packs down and getting self heals isn’t as easy as it seems.

Aura however, I feel it should be a pulse, not just constant heals. Right now the healing station allows you to tank damage quite easily as certain classes…but then AGAIN, this is because we don’t have certain mercs, or access to all mercs at a time.

Personally, I’d like it if you could just pick any 3 loadout cards, and still have access to the other mercs, just not the perks or different weapons they may come with.

Also, after seeing the damage chart…yea, Arty needs that weapon buffed, kinda bullshit how it takes 5 shots to kill anything that’s not Proxy, Aura, or Vasilli, it should get a small damage buff, not a big one, just a small one.

Like maybe 30 to the body and 60 to the head, but idk. Maybe a recoil change would be enough to make that gun amazing for spamming shots, as the fire rate is it’s advantage over Red Eye’s M14

Agree about Arty. His gun is not necessarily bad, but a slight damage buff would be more than welcome.

SawBonez on the other hand is probably the only balanced merc right now. That’s why he “isn’t quite as op” and he doesn’t have to be. Other mercs need a bit of work.

Aura’s station should heal slower, and only if you haven’t taken damage in a few seconds. If I see a merc standing next to a healing station anywhere from mid to long range I don’t even bother shooting at them.

Revives need to be fixed aswell. 2-3 sec invincibility is just ridiculous. On top of that you can keep on reviving the same player again and again. If you get revived and die again in the next say 30 seconds you should stay dead.

Right now Fragger supported by a pocket healer is by far the most OP combo. Fragger’s damage output is insane, if you somehow kill him he gets insta-revived, invincibility for a few seconds.

I’m not even gonna talk about Fragger. He has way too much HP, his LMG deals crazy damage and the aim-punch from that thing is stupid. His nades should either deal less damage or should be non-cookable (They won’t be useless if you can’t cook them, you can throw them in the air so that they explode on impact)

I play this game for a one week, my impressions:
Proxy - way too fast than others, very hard to kill especially for newbies, real pain in a**, shotgun op. Most powerful merc in the game.
Fragger - this guy is okay, but his grenade spam is too much.
SH - pretty balanced guy, i like him.
Aura - looks like okay, but health station make Fragger some times absolutly unkillable , shotguns OP.
Vasili - just like Skyhammer he is really balanced.
SawBones - he hitting hard, but he is balanced.
Arty - balanced.
