I actually prefer the BR over the Kek just because everything I touch with it dies faster than Wildstar.
ummm?

…what do you mean by this, since arty has no access to KEK anyway?
Just a preferance over weapon that classes that use KEK dont have access to?

And i can still agree that its a good weapon, but its ammo economy is still one of the worst.
I never said he did lol. But people always assume that the kek is the most powerful gun in the game…and I disagree with said people :P.

I roll with bush and arty in my loadout and I REALLY hate using the kek after reking so hard with the BR.
I have newer found the KEK as godly as people clame it to be, i find the Hockfir better.

I would find the BR better if it had more mag size, currently the thing that keeps me from using it compared to oher weapons is the ammo economy and mag size, it runs out of ammo fast and has to be constantly reloaded.
Hochfir is 1 less dmg and less spread hochfir is better imo too
Hochfir does actualy 2 damage less, aka 9 damage per shot while kek does 11 damage per shot. But still has supperior accuracy and fire rate. While it does not have the DPS its still very good weapon and i LOVE IT.

@Gi.Am The point and click (for me) is not so much about reducing the time to call in the arty but more a way to add more accuracy. As it is now you have to aim it right within 0.4s which will sometimes make you miss the spot you wanted to hit.
Well maybe point and click might not be the right name for what I mean. What I mean is something more like a “point and click to confirm”, then after you “confirmed” the spot the 0.4s timer shows to call in the arty. This way you can still quickly call in arty but you can choose to take your time to it properly or to do a quick call in without much aiming.

I hope it’s now a bit more clear what I meant.

Also we should be able to aim the arty on top of the EV, so you can be sure you can do max possible damage to it and that a moving EV doesn’t cancel calling in arty.

There is a way to call the artilery on EVs top, its just too damn hard and almost imppossible while its moving, there is a spot in EV that can be marked but while its moving its almost impossible because of the 0.4s lockon time.

But yeah, marking EV should not be that hard, it should be easier.

hm interesting, about the sparks gun I did a couple of testfires when they changed it saw no drop on the healthbar and called it a day tnx. for the info.

I agree with you guys that the targeting needs work, one of my main points is and I held it before the Arty buff, that improving the targeting (mainly reducing the redtape) would result, in so much more, well placed artillery that no further buffs would be needed.
We saw a similar effect when the channel time was lowered (used to be 0,7 if I remember correctly) and the cooldown went down.
Beforehand the situations where you could even think about placing a marker, where far and between, but after the change it instantly increased the overall amount of usage without touching range/damage/targeting mechanic (he was truly bad back then).

One thing I like about the current targeting approach is that it allows to drag your targeting. Your intial aim, is hardly ever on the spot and you might have to adjust it (not only because of redtape) wouldn’t wanna loose that.

What could work is a hybrid I.e. a marked on release. You activate the marker and it starts to target like usually allowing you to drag freely but as soon as you release it. It punches in that location. Would have the additional advantage of preventing accidental second strikes.

But as I said far the bigger problem is the redtape. One suggestion that was made before was to have the actual targeting (the part that decides you can or cannot place it there the size of kiras beam would imidently help with the situation. And I personaly prefer hitting a roof from time to time over not hitting at all.

Thats pretty much the same thing as I said but in my theory you have to aim first and then click to activate the marker, that way if you want to call in the 2nd strike you can just click again.

Now this, in they way, could work.

However what do we give arty indoors?
Every Fire support has someting to do indoors but arty does not have anything realy.

Now instead of making compleatly separate topic for merc tweaking, i made this arty buff suggestion more universal to all mercs. (we still talk about the same things with arty… mostly)
SO here we look at (all) mercs and fine tune them.
about the weapons changes… lets leave them to my other topic that has more info about them.

Now for a start we are looking at Arty, Phantom and Sparks and how we could tweak them a little bit.
