“Ya’ll ever seen a hillbilly drive a remote control car with a flamethrower? Well ya’ sure have now! Yeeeeeehaw!”
[Aethestic Aspects]: Rover should look like a stereotypical texan hillbilly hybrid. A cowboy hat, some round googles and a bushy bears. He should have a robotic arm, wear some light armor and some missing teeth.
[Backstory]: A Texan RC fanatic, after the dirty bomb dropped London became the prime spot to test out Rover’s highly illegal remote control death machines.
[Primary Ability “Q”]: EOD Bot - Rover can place down an EOD Bot which has 90 HP and a movement speed of 420. Its design features a flat cuboid like button with two tank like tire tracks either side. Ontop of this it features a long arm with blow torch and a PDA-esque attachment to the side of the blowtorch with camera mounted ontop of this robotic arm.
The EOD bot can be place almost anywhere on the battlefield. It is controlled by the second ability and only accessible by rover.
The blowtorch can be used as a weapon or self defense. It deals around 5 points of damage per second to enemy troops and it no way a means of assault.
The EOD bot sustains standard damage and will fall victim to all other special ability effects.
The EOD bot doesn’t reciece healing benefits and does not require ammunition. The EOD bot can be repaired by team-mates like an EV by pressing and holding “F”. The EOD and Rover cannot move at the same time and the player has control of one of them at a time.
The EOD Bot has a cooldown of 30 seconds if it is destroyed.
The EOD bot can repair EV’s, objectives and disarm C4’s. It cannot carry objectives. It’s repair and objective times should be inbetween the times of non-engineer and engineer mercs.
The EOD should stand at just over a third of the height of Proxy/Aura/Sparks.
[Secondary Ability “E”]: Control Panel - a visiual HUD mounted on Rovers arm as a wrist-watch with a LED screen on. This ability is accessible once the EOD bot in deployed. When pressed an animation of Rover looking into his LED panel is activated and it is brought upto the screen where the player now controls the EOD in a new view. Rover goes into a crouched position when this occurs and is completely immobile when control is transfered to the EOD.
The mouse will control the aim and movement of the arm, which is not affected by the movement of the base. The blowtorch is visible as if it’s a weapon. WASD will control the base of the bot.
The player can press E with a small interval of a second between switching from Rover to the EOD.
[Play-style]: Having fairly standard health and speed with a lack of hars hitting weaponry, Rover should stick back slightly. He should put his bot into objective rooms, hidden and then search for cover or assist his team as a standard engineer. When a problem arises, he should switch to his bot and deal with it, using its small slender frame and element of surprise without compromising his own life.
[Countering Rover]: Rover firstly, without his bot, is very standard. He can deal the damage but doesn’t excel at it. He can be overwhelmed fairly easily if alone and not with a team. His EOD bot can be damage if controlled or not so look for it at all times, as well as aiming for it. It isn’t the fastest and has a low health so it is easily removed if spotted. Rover is also immobile when using his bot, so he’s yours for the taking if he hasn’t hidden himself well.
