[Mercenary Idea] Wolf (NOW WITH ART)

Meet Wolf. Wolf was a part of a vast cloning and genetic research experiment by the Russian government, created from the most perfect genetically engineered cells right from childbirth, Wolf was born as the most perfect human being. The formula that went into creating Wolf was very specific; using all the right genes from both human and the various canines that were compatible, the Russian government was able to build the ultimate human - a “Neo-Human”.

Eventually the UN snuffed out the secretive activities of the Russian government and demanded that Project Wolf was to be released and allowed to live a normal life but it wasn’t long until his " normal life" found him on the battlefield that is war-torn London.

What distinguishes Wolf from any other merc is his ability to know where his enemies have gone and track them down to their incoming death, if you need a merc thats perfect for both reconnaissance and assault, Wolf is the Merc you call.

120HP, 420SP.

Passive Ability - Genetic Supremacy
Whomever killed Wolf in his previous life now does only 60% damage to him. This resets every life unless the same person kills him.

Passive Ability - Pack Reliance
When Wolf isn’t within 20m of his allies, his melee attacks do 10% less damage.

Primary Ability - Predatorial Vision
Wolf can see enemy footprints on the ground and the amount of health they are currently on, footprints fade away after a minute. A bright red outline is also added to any enemies. The ability lasts for 1 minute and has a cooldown depending on how many kills Wolf got during that time.

  • 0 kills - 50 seconds
  • 1 kill - 45 seconds
  • 2 kills - 40 seconds
  • 3-4 kills - 30 seconds
  • 5 kills and above - 25 seconds

Secondary Ability - Primal Regeneration
For a period of 10 seconds, Wolf regenerates 40HP per second at the cost of taking 50% more damage from any sources.

Wolf favours Assault Rifles and Semi-Auto pistols.

Introducing the Machete - A melee weapon that has a situational damage output. If Wolf is above 90% health, the Machete will do “Katana-esque” damage. Below 90% health, the Machete will only deal “Beckhill combat knife” damage.

Interesting merc idea and pretty cool abilities but what weapons did you have in mind for wolf?

Oh yeah, I forgot to put those in, I’ll edit the thread. Crotzni, Blishlok, KEK - Caulden, M9, Selbstadt. So pretty much just SMGs and semi auto pistols.

I guess he uses the standard melee weapons as well or did you want to have the kukri or the katana for him? (maybe even a completely new one?)

An entirely new melee sounds interesting. How about claws - or Hammer and Sickle (Russia reference).

I like the claws idea. You could make it so that the claws deal quite high slash and little stab damage with high attack speed but the range shouldn’t be that high.

Claws as an ability weapon would be quite handy. Maybe if they had a poisoning mechanic attached to them that let you infect the enemy by clawing them. It would certainly be less overpowered and synergize better with the glowing-footsteps tracking ability than that regeneration.

A good idea but maybe better for a Venom-themed merc (that’s your job). Going to stick with regeneration to fit the whole “Wolf theme”, besides, regen would make Wolf more effective at his " Hunter/killer" job.

I’m not sure whether the assault rifles are necessary because wolf is already a really strong merc with 120hp and 420 speed plus the abilities he gets. I think the assault rifles would be a bit too much since they are good at longer distances and also do well in close combat. I would say smgs or may even shotguns fit better to him due to his quite high health and movement speed.

I think I might edit the abilities a bit to make it a bit more balanced (shorter). The Katar is definitely a nice touch.

@gg2ez Does Genetic Supremacy affect all who play Wolf or just the person you killed?

@sentimentalDime it is a player exclusive thing so it only affects the person that killed you. Say for example if player 1 were to kill player 2, player 1 would only deal 60% damage to player 2 in player 2’s next life.
