[Merc + Weapon] Atlas

(gg2ez) #1

“No, not lasers - Plasma!”

Assault, 120HP, 400SP.

Four years before the Dirty Bomb incidents, the Swiss Government teamed up with the folks at CERN Particle Research with the goal of creating the most advanced particle weapons on Earth, however, only one weapon was developed before the project’s funding was pulled for other uses. This weapon was the “Plasma Grenade”, given only to the most decorated soldiers of the Swiss Battalion.

Slightly before the Dirty Bomb conflicts, War Veteran, Valentin “Atlas” Glauss learnt how to reverse engineer these Plasma Grenades and shortly thereafter became a mercenary in the Dirty Bomb Conflicts. Working for Jackal or the CDA under request, Atlas steps into the battlefield and scorches all who oppose him.

Primary Ability - Plasma Grenade
Atlas throws down a grenade that explodes on impact. Upon explosion, the Plasma Grenade emits a large flash of Plasma that inflicts serious burns on any enemy caught within the blast, making them 70% more vulnerable to all damage after dealing an initial 50DMG and large knock back. 25 second cooldown applies.

Grenades look similar to this. (Art is not mine, view the original picture here)
Loadouts favor:

 • Assault Rifles
 • Pistols
 • Melee

Quotes:

 • “You know the stuff that makes the sun all hot? Same thing in my Grenades.” -Atlas talking about his PGs.
 • “You three should’ve stayed at home.” - Atlas getting a Triple Kill badge.

New weapon suggestion: the Syndicate or SYN-D1.
Based off the FN-Scar 16, however, the SYN-D1 has a drum magazine instead.
Stats are as follows:

 • 17 DMG/hit
 • 500 RPM
 • 50 bullets/magazine
 • 141 DPS
 • Effective range: 19M

Further details:

 • Drum magazine
 • Dot sight

Looks similar to this, without Ironsight.
Crowd debuff? Seems pretty cool.

@derpypenguinz19 Thanks. Anything on the gun?

Very nice indeed. I just think that a 70% is rather a lot especially after an initial 50 damage. Would it be more balanced if the cool down was longer or maybe only 40-50% increase. I dunno though. Like the idea.

(gg2ez) #5

Thanks. I’ll change the cooldown

The Swiss government? The Swiss militia was well known for its marksmanship, in fact making the Axis Powers leave it alone when they conquered everything else in Europe, so why not have this class use sniper rifles and semi-automatics? Or just change the origin of the weaponry here?

It’s unlikely that the Swiss would use particle weapons for grenades, they might favor lasers more. Also, why plasma?

This class is like Freefall Tournament’s Gunner. He has a shatter bomb that makes targets more suceptible to damage, as well as the ability to increase his DPS in short order. And to top it all off, he uses an assault rifle and a sniper.

well…not exactly…you’re talking about the same army commander that was adamant about attacking the soviet union despite heavy losses and more or less with no plan other than “claim stalingrad”

^should start from 1:22

My only fuzz is that the SYN-D1 seems lke an OP version of the k 121

(gg2ez) #10

Actually it’s a shorter ranged M4 buff.
