Now hiring Watchdog, a former hacker that can stop bullets before they even leave the gun.

PRIMARY ABILITY

  • Hack Device: Given to him by the Jackals themselves (only for them to find out he was a spy for the CDA), Watchdog uses a special hacking device that can hack deployables, jam guns, and defuse C4 from afar (he CAN NOT fully defuse the C4, he can only go so far as half of the C4 defusal). The longer he holds down the hacking button, the longer the jam/hack, but the longer the cooldown. C4 defusal drains the device the fastest, and has the longest cooldown.

C4 Ranged Defusal Details
The Hacking Device is only able to defuse from a short range, about 10 meters away (so from like the rock in the last objective of Chapel to the delivery point). Of course, he’d get unique augments that extend the reach of the defusal range. When trying to defuse, if you are too far away than the device will say “Out of Range”. It would say the same thing for hacking deployables or jamming guns, but the range for those two things are farther than the range for C4s.

… hwo about him been able to defuse the c4 but at a very short range…about only from 6 meter affar?

Oh yeah it is supposed to be short range, I forgot to add that. I’m so bad at this details thing.

interesting. there have been hacker merc suggestions before, but this one looks to have more thought put into it than most. the bit about jamming guns is odd, tho. last i checked, guns didnt have electronics in their firing mechanisms, unless you count metal storm, which i havent seen crop up anywhere in the ruins of londontown yet.

Cool concept, I have a couple questions that will help you build Watchdog better.
If a c4 is already more than halfway defused, will Watchdog be able to fully defuse it?

If the gun is jammed, what can the merc that is affected deal with the problem?
Since, every merc’s ability requires a direct/indirect counter.

i remember a comic i found somewhere on the net one time, i think it was making a joke out of a part of a videogame, which i cant remember, but basically some guy used some thingamajig to stop lots of guns pointed at him from firing(and then got shot by a dude who said he jailbroke his gun to play mp3s on it).

If the C4 is already halfway defused then yes he could defuse the rest of it BUT he can not defuse the same C4 twice.
If a merc’s gun is jammed, well, they have to wait or pull out a different weapon. The jam isn’t too long, probably 5 seconds.
