[Merc] Tremor

(Rewolf) #1

Bio: Paco was an expert on earthquakes and seismology in Chile. A leading expert on earthquake prevention methods as well as protection methods saw him experimenting with a scala of gadgets to try and make his country safer from quakes. His piece de resistance was his own developed Quaketrop. A caltrop which could be placed on the ground and simulated tremors from an earthquake. Unfortunatly, he started to test his device too soon and too eagerly. Trying to test it out in the National Earthquake Prevention Centre didn’t prove to be the smartest idea. The building wasn’t calculated or build to handle an earthquake from inside and it partially collapsed, killing dozens of innocents. Ashamed and disgraced, Paco himself managed to survive the collapse but was outcast from Chile and banned for life from his work. Or at least, in his country. Despite his failure, Paco was determined to finish his work and create a better version of his Quaketrop in order to investigate better ways of earthquake prevention. As it turned out, London proved to be the best for him to finish his work. Here he could earn the money needed to fund his research as well aas testing out his version(s) of the Quaketrop.

  • Class: Fire Support
  • HP: 110
  • Speed: 420

Primary Weapons: Timik, Dreiss, Stark
Secondary Weapons: S&W, Simeon, M9
Melee Weapons: Standard

Primary Ability: Quaketrop (Cooldown: 40 sec)
Tremor throws or place his Quaketrop on the ground. It looks like a modified Caltrop which is about the size of Skyhammer’s airstrike marker. It has the same HP as Vassili’s Detector and takes 2 sec to deploy (it can be destroyed in this time). After it is deployed the Quaketrop sends out seismic waves through the ground. The Blast area is about 2x the size of Arty’s Blast Radius and is divided into 4 segments. When standing within the Inner Segment, the Quaketrop deals 100 damage, within the Second Segment 75 damage, Third Segment 50 damage and Fourth Segment 25 damage. The Quaketrop can be used inside as well as outside and deals damage to mercs as well as the EV.

Secondary Ability: Ammo Station
You know how this works

maybe its because ive never experienced an earthquake ever, but from my perspective, arent casualties from earthquakes from falling debris from buildings and such, and not the actual earthquake? stand in a field when an earthquake occurs and you’ll be okay(right?)

well, yeah, there’s the tsunami bit as well, but so far there arent any maps set near large bodies of water.

I would agree with @TheRyderShotgun around the idea of earthquakes damaging through debris. Sure, it should damage the EV without additional debris, but why not have the earthquake actually deal damage to indoor areas only, like an inversion of how fire support classes work outdoors only?

Well the idea was that vis Quaketrop sends seismic waves through the ground, breaking the ‘earth’ open and thus dealing damage.

Dude, think about where London is before saying that.
This is like the CoD nuke right here.
