Merc Suggestion - Azazel

(Sterling) #1

Description
“Guns don’t kill people. I do.”

Azazel is the guy you want on your side when the battle starts. Packed with a black trench coat (stylish!) and and a guided rocket launcher, he is the ultimate meaning of “search and destroy”.

Weapons:
Primaries: Crotzni, Hochfir SMG and SMG-9. //OR// Stark AR, BR-16 and Dreiss AR. (I personally like the second set more)
Secondaries: Selby, Caulden and Simeon.
Melee: Bat, Knife and Stiletto.
Stats: 90 health, 420 speed. (he has a rocket launcher, that’s gotta be heavy)

E: Guided Rocket Launcher
35 seconds cooldown, 150 damage, 2 capacity, [undefined] explosion radius.

“Fires a fairly slow moving rocket that can be taken down by gunfire. Rocket is guided to where the player is aiming at while holding the left mouse button. That said, not more than one rocket can be flying at once.”

Appearance:
Clothes - Black trench coat, fingerless gloves, light kevlar vest, olive drab pants and black military combat boots.
Body - Grey eyes, medium middle parted black hair, skinny (Kira skinny, y’know) and a scar on his left cheek.

~~

Any suggestions are welcome.

The words “rocket” and “fairly slow” don’t seem to work together. Laser guidable weapons are also really huge, emphasis on huge. My suggestion is that Azazel has a laser pointer that when activated, a drone flies over the drops the rocket which can now be guided by your laser. Like Skyhammer, but for indoors. You could also consider a marker system where Azazel can shoot makers onto the ground that tells the rocket where to go.

Well, I suggested the “fairly slow” part to allow people to counter it with shots more easily, since rocket launchers are regarded as overpowered in most games.

About the marker, well, wouldn’t it say exactly where I am firing and people will get out of the way?

The marker system would allow people to counter but also keep the rocket speedy. Just to clarify, I’m not talking about just one marker, I’m talking multiple markers: A delivery marker and a directional marker(s). You place the delivery marker outdoors so the drone can drop the rocket, and make a path with directional markers indoors, the rocket will jet down towards the ground and follow the marker path until it hits a wall or player. Now obviously, this can be countered by looking at the markers (the size of a heartbeat sensor). If you have the marker system you can get into some pretty complex manuevers, thus making a good to play merc.

Alternatively you could place down your markers first and then call in the rocket.

Hm, good point. But would that mean that you can drop the markers, call the rocket and then fire away with your weapon instead of guiding it manually with a laser?

(gg2ez) #7

If you put down the markers first, you don’t need a laser but for the sake of balance I would say you shouldn’t be able to fire your weapons while the rocket is still undetonated because with markers you could easily destroy a mountain of enemies. For example you could put markers around sniper spots so if you see an enemy sniper you can just call in the rocket and take cover. In fact, if you truly wanted to #playdirty you could smash entire spawn areas with your rocket.

This guy has the potential to call in a supersonic, guided rocket and you want to amp his HP up to 100?

(ASTOUNDINGSHELL) #10

well you said the rocket moves slowly and he has to keep his target if hes only got 90 health and still mvoes slower than vassili. he will rpetty much get fucked up

Nobody would want to make a push with those markers. They’d push and either be slowed down by the markers or have the push decimated with the rocket.

That sounds quite fun, actually.

Pro defense+Attack. It would work especially well with the respawn clock.
