Merc: Stim (Support Medic)

(Mr-Penguin) #1

Stim
“There’s no such thing as too much speed.”

HP: 90
Speed: 450

Profile: Originally from a prestigious research center in Italy, it all started when he was transferred over to England to aid in the research of an effective rehabilitation drug for wounded soldiers. During his research, he came across an aerosol gas that, when inhaled, encouraged faster healing of wounds and increasing bloodflow to muscles to allow faster movement and increased endurance. Alas, his constant exposure to the aerosol made him more and more dependent on it, giving him splitting headaches and hallucinations after only a few hours without exposure to the gas.

He was about to return back home when the Dirty Bomb incident occurred, grounding all of the planes and turning the airport into an impromptu evac shelter. With all of the injured people in the airport, he had no time to synthesize more of the gas, escalating his withdrawal symptoms until he murdered one of the soldiers guarding the airport, took his weapons, and drove off into downtown London. The various merc groups around the city provided a steady income and facilities to create more of the gas, as well as more people who needed it, so he kept his new job.

Appearance: Tall, wiry man with bed-raggled dark brown hair. Wears a stained, unbuttoned trenchcoat with a bulletproof vest underneath.

Primary Ability: Stimulant Gas
CD: 30 seconds
Duration: 15 seconds
Stim throws down a canister of gas that goes off after a short delay. The gas covers an area slightly larger than the radius of Aura’s health station and appears pale blue to allies and pale red to enemies. Contact with the gas gives health regen 3/4ths as fast as a health station’s and a speed increase of 20. Enemies receive none of the effects. The buffs remain for 7 seconds after leaving the gas cloud, or as long as you stay inside the cloud.

Secondary Ability: Defibrillators
CD: N/A
Duration: N/A
You know what this does. You rez allies.

Tertiary Ability: N/A

Weapons:
Primary- Anhuld-12, Blishlok, SMG-9
Secondary- Tolen MP, M9, Slebstadt

This is a reboot of my previous thread concerning a merc of the same name that could boost their teammate’s movement speed as well as provide healing. This time around though, Stim fulfills more of a support role with his Stimulant Gas being a cross between Aura’s station and Redeye’s smoke. It’s something you could run through on the way to the objective than the constant healing that Aura’s station provides. If this receives enough interest, I’ll add a bio and maybe even some (bad) art. Feel free to make suggestions!

Sounds pretty awesome dude.
But i got 1 question. Is there any way to neutralise the smoke cuz u said it’s like red eyes smoke so guess explosives would destroy it?

And a bit of the story was weird. So yeah i get it the air lines have been cut and people are injured and he cant spare any of the gas but killin 1 of the soldiers gettin blood on his hands (unnecessary blood) steal his gear and run off?
Well i guess that in that scenario the airport would be on lockdown but for a scientist who’s made a gas like that wouldn’t he try to sneak out and on his way out get some guns and run of?
And yeah he does hallucinate but he isn’t that insane to do that is he?

I’m fine with everythin else and it sounds like an awesome merc.

I envisioned the gas canister as a deployed, sustained release type of thing, kinda like a health station. I suppose that the canister could be destroyed and the gas would be cleared, or maybe the canister would act more like a smoke grenade and be immediately cleared after an explosion, but given that Stim is a medic, that wouldn’t do so good for the actual healing part.

The backstory is really there for flavor- they don’t show up ingame anyways. I can always make changes though, so I’ll try and make a it a little bit more realistic. Thanks for the feedback!

Prety well done if i am to say anything.
i alsolike how hsi backstory kinda makes sense

(Koyotea) #6

the backstory is interesting, but i would change his origin country, Sparks is already Swiss. i know there are more than 1 American and more than 1 Brit, but they’re all from different regions with different accents. Switzerland is a small country with not much diversity in that regards. perhaps Italian or Danish?

(Mr-Penguin) #7

Yeah, I was thinking about that. To be honest, it’s honestly kinda hard to pin down Spark’s exact nationality, so I’ll change it to Italian. Thanks for the feedback!

Stim isn’t meant to be a combat medic like Sawbonez and Phoenix. It’s intentional that he has lower health and less combat-oriented weapons like the Crotzini. He’s supposed to be a second-line support with his gas canisters, increasing his allies speed and giving them health.
