[Merc] Rover

(Feley) #1

Full name: Marcus “Rover” Rollinger (name inspired by @MarsRover lol (Don’t be mad bro hehe) and google search of some random surname that starts with “R” :stuck_out_tongue: )
Nationality: Luxemburg
HP: 100
Speed: “Phoenix’s”
Class: Objective Specialist

Abillity 1 - Deployable Rover

Deployable Rover can be used for repairing by the speed of regular merc with Mechanic augment.
Deployable Rover is fairly small for sneaking into repairing EV, but it has health of only 70 hit points…

Abillity 2 - Remote Phone

“Rover” can use Remote Phone to control rover by drawing it out and clicking LMB to log into it (this takes ~1 second). While using it, he must stand still (as W A S D buttons are now used to control Rover (There is a camera on Rover so player can see in black-white screen where rover is on his Remote Phone). “F” puts Deployable Rover in repair mode)
Deployable Rover has radius in which it must be from merc (Remote Phone) itself… (I don’t know radius yet but I’ll think of it. Also, it shouldn’t be too high radius)
With using RMB, Rover uses self-distruction causing damage of a Skyhammer’s indoor airstrike…
When Deployable Rover is in repair mode, “Rover” can use his gun and get in battle while his deployable is repairing to make him more useful for team, and not just a coward that hides while something is doing job for him.

Cooldown of Deployable Rover -If Rover is still somewhere deployed cooldown is 20 seconds after being deployed… Once 20 seconds pass, “Rover” can deploy another Rover, destroying first one…
If Deployable Rover gets destroyed manually by enemy, cooldown is 35 seconds.
If Deployable Rover gets self-destructed by “Rover”, cooldown is increased to 50 seconds.

Passive Abillity - Objective Specialist

Weapons:
Primaries - Hochfir, Crotzni, Blishlok
Secondaries - Deagle, Simeon, Caulden
Melee - Beckhill, Cricket Bat, Stiletto

What do you guys think, is it another Drone/Rover boring stuff, or could it work… And how would you balance it? ^^

I’m MarsRover and this is my favorite topic on the Cita… khem… in this section.

I really like the idea that the remote thingy is a rover, not a fyling drone that would be a PITA to shoot.

Automaton says… ah, screw that.

So remote mode is just a self-destruct? Seems like a waste of time if you’re going to use it.

I wasn’t gonna make another turret… I was going for something that main purpose is to repair… You put it to repair secondary or EV and you continue to fight… Also if that isn’t enough, you can use rover to destroy lets say enemy healing station that aura covered behind wall by self destruction…

Also this rover thingy wouldn’t be so big and slow, as lets say real mars rover, this would be something of size of one mine and half or 2 mines, altough little higher than mine…

anything repairing or focusing an objective while the enemies are in combat creates a pretty MASSIVE advantage for the attacking team. - Furthermore, having a merc specific to EV maps would be a bit pointless on any other map.

Well if the rover can somehow manage to get past enemy lines without anyone noticing, you probably could as well (face it, there isn’t much a rover could hide behind that a large merc couldn’t). And it’s better to have an objective specialist who can actually fight repair something than a rover, while you’re out of the fight controlling it.

Also as @Naonna said, it would be a bit of a one-trick-pony. Sure you can slowly repair the EV or a few secondary objectives, but you really can’t do much for the rest of the match.

It seems to me like it would be better if the rover was made into a sort of recon suicide vehicle instead. Spot enemies for your team, or drive into an enemy stronghold and blow up with I suppose a bit less explosive force than a frag grenade.

Yeah I realised it. Anyways I tough rover wouldn’t be that big (as well as it would be fast) so it could actually sneak… Anyways spotting abillity to objective specialist, isn’t rly good idea. But yeah it would be maybe good to had that kind of frag power.
